Resonant pavement breaker is an excellent technique to reform worn cement concrete pavement (PCC). When the frequency of the machine adjusted to the resonant frequency of the worn cement concrete pavement, the pavement will be broken to discrete blocks. For the full use of this technique, this article studied the dynamic properties such as natural frequencies and modalities of worn cement concrete pavements of national secondary road. FEM was used to discretize models of different damaged degrees. The influence of different damaged degrees on natural frequencies and modes was studied. It was discovered that the new cement concrete pavement’s frequency was bigger than worn ones, and the modes were influenced by the damage locations and their degrees, the more worn, the more irregular.

Cement concrete pavements were used in most airports built early in China. Nowadays the main task of airports is how to cover and reinforce damaged pavements. To ensure the life-span of pavement after covering, on the basis of analyzing the treatment methods of original cement concrete pavement, cement and asphalt concrete were used to realize the covering and reinforcement of old cement concrete pavement, and key technologies of Preventing reflective cracks of concrete pavement were put forward, which had a good result in practice

Concrete pavement slabs experience volume change due to the variation of temperature and moisture level. The frictional drag acting on the bottom of slab due to the base friction is in the opposite direction of horizontal slab displacement, and resist against the horizontal slab movements. The magnitude of frictional force and horizontal slab displacement has interdependent relationship. In the present study, the interface friction of typical concrete pavements was evaluated by performing a number of push-off tests. In this paper, reviews of classical friction theory and friction characteristics at the interface of concrete slabs and the underlying subbases are presented.

AbstractMain objective of this paper is to present ananalysis of necessity of providing expansion joints in the plain cement concrete pavement considering the climate and weather conditions of Vietnam. This study would help in the proper designing of expansion joints of highways and airport roads and thus can improve life span of cement concrete pavements to be constructed in Vietnam.

An experimental study was performed on the energy consumption and noise reduction of cement concrete. The results showed that the modulus of flexure, natural frequencies and logarithmic attenuation rate of concrete decreased when fiber and rubber powder were added together, at the same time, the critical damping ratio of concrete increased. Therefore,it played a very important role in energy consumption and noise reduction of cement concrete pavement when fiber and rubber powder were rationally added.

Special load has produced serious damage to the concrete pavement because of the great gross weight and heavy axle load, but the present specification has not mentioned this kind of load. On this occasion, Several conditions of critical load are identified through ANSYS finite element model analysis and the formula through statistical regression analysis to the bottom maximum tension stress is drawn up. Which can not only guide the concrete pavement design under the special load but also the result may be referred by the other kinds of engineering.
