Concrete face rockfill dam has the certain superiority in the construction of dam. Duncan-Chang nonlinear elastic model is selected as the dam materials in ABAQUS, which is an nonlinear finite element analysis software. Stresses and deformations of the concrete face rockfill dam are analyzed during its completion, operation and water level drawdown periods. Study shows that all results meet the requirements of the project, and have referenced value for other similar engineering.

The deformations and stresses of a concrete face rockfill dam (CFRD) for dam construction and reservoir impoundment were simulated by the element add/remove technique of ABAQUS. And, the sensitivity analysis of main parameters of the Duncan-Chang E-B model was carried out by the method of univariate sensitivity analysis and the critical sensitivity parameters of the deformation and stress on the CFRD were obtained. This research has some guidance and reference for future similar projects design and monitoring.

The numerical simulation analysis, by using senior nonlinear finite element analysis software MSC.Marc, was achieved in this paper for the tie-replacing procedures of a steel tube tied-arch filled with concrete. Through this analysis, the control parameters were accurately determined for the installing of new ties and the removing of old ties. Results of numerical analysis ensured the bridge structure stable during the replacement, made the construction of safe and convenient, and played a guiding role in the maintenance and reinforcement. The successful experience could be referenced by other similar projects.

Based on the finite element analysis software ABAQUS, the nonlinear analysis of a reinforced concrete beam was carried out In this simple beam analysis, the concrete damage plasticity model in ABAQUS has been introduced thoroughly. Finally, the results of the experimentation and the ABAQUS analysis were compared in a diagram, accordingly reasons of the result difference between the two methods were discussed about, which can be a useful reference for the further study of the finite element analysis on ABAQUS.

Based on the nonlinear finite element analysis, the deformations and stresses of the CFRD in the completion and storage stages were simulated. The deformation and stress laws of the dam body and the panel in different stages were predicted. Finally, the sensitivity analysis of main parameters of the Duncan-Chang E-B model was carried out by the multiple indicators of orthogonal design method, and the critical sensitivity parameters of the deformation and stress on the CFRD were obtained. The results can take some reference for the design, construction and safety monitoring of the CFRD.
