Water Quality Detection Using UV Spectra Based on the PCA Algorithm

Nowadays water pollution is a major problem facing our country, how to detect the water quality anomalies quickly is a major issue which needs to be solved urgently. In this paper, using PCA and cluster analysis methods, the similarities and differences of different water samples are analyzed. Meanwhile, two water samples belonging to the same river can be classified into different clusters due to different pollution degrees. It is promising that detecting the abnormal events based on the ultraviolet spectrum of water is possible. The research and results of this paper provide theoretical support and feasibility roadmap of the technology.

<p>It is well recognized that the classical biological and chemical markers of environmental pollution do not necessarily indicate the presence or absence of emerging threats to public health, such as waterborne viruses and genotoxicants. The purpose of this preliminary study was to evaluate the presence of material of enteroviruses (EV), rotavirus (RV) and adenovirus (AdV) and genotoxicity in water samples from points of routine monitoring of water quality in the main course of the Sinos River. The points are classified into different levels of pollution in accordance to the Brazilian federal regulations. Viral genomes from EV, AdV were detected in two of the 4 collection points regardless of the level of urbanisation of the surrounding areas. In contrast, genotoxicity was not observed in piava (<italic>Leporinus obtusidens</italic>) fingerlings cultivated on these same water samples. Results were compared with classical physical, chemical and microbiological parameters. There was no clear evidence of association between any of the classical markers and the presence of viral genomes in the water samples tested.</p>

Twenty lake bottom surface layers mud and water samples in the Qilihai Wetland and the Beidagang Reservoir in Tianjin were taken to do diatoms analysis. More than 6000 diatoms were identified and divided into 117 species and 28 genera. Based on the calculation of DAIpo(Diatom Assemblage to organic water pollution), the water pollution level of the Beidagang Reservoir can be divided into: Xenosaprobic, β -oligosaprobic, α -oligosaprobic, β -mesosaprobic, from clear to slightly cloudy water. The water pollution level of Qilihai wetland can be divided into: extremely oligarchy dirt belt, β oligarchy dirt belt, α oligarchy dirt belt, β Medium dirt belt, that is, the water quality is clear to slightly turbid. The water quality of the Beidagang Reservoir is clearer than that of the Qilihai Wetland. The physical and chemical indexes such as EC, pH, TN, TP and CODMn were determined for the water samples, and the correlation between DAIpo and these measured values was analyzed. The results showed that the degree of water pollution detected was consistent with the conclusion obtained by diatom analysis. The results show that the water quality of the Beidagang Reservoir and the Qilihai Wetland was mildly polluted in the spring and summer of 2019, but the eutrophication is more serious.

The present study was conducted to assess the water quality at Chandpai range in Bagerhat district of the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest of Bangladesh. Seven water samples were collected during July to December 2014. The water were analyzed for pH, EC, P, K, S, Ca, Mg, Cu, Mn, Zn, Fe and B. The EC values of rivers and canals water were found higher than that of the ponds. River waters of Chandpai range were detected as neutral to slightly alkaline. Waters from Karamjalkhal (Lake), Pasur river, Nandabala canal and Ismails Chila were found strongly saline (EC, 8-12 dSm-1), Bholakhal (lake) was moderately saline (EC, 4-8 dSm-1) and Boiddomari and Dashervarani ponds were poorly saline (EC<4 dSm-1) in nature. The concentrations of K, Ca, Mg, S, Zn and B were found higher and P, Cu and Mn were lower at higher EC levels. The concentrations of K, S, Cu and B in most of the rivers exceeded the permissible level for aquaculture. The Agriculturists 2018; 16(2) 123-130

A study was conducted to evaluate the water quality parameters of pond water at Mymensingh Urban region. The water samples were collected from 30 ponds located at Mymensingh Urban Region during August to October 2010. The chemical analyses of water samples included pH, EC, Na, K, Ca, S, Mn and As were done by standard methods. The chemical properties in pond water were found pH 6.68 to 7.14, EC 227 to 700 ?Scm-1, Na 15.57 to 36.00 ppm, K 3.83 to 16.16 ppm, Ca 2.01 to 7.29 ppm, S 1.61 to 4.67 ppm, Mn 0.33 to 0.684 ppm and As 0.0011 to 0.0059 ppm. The pH values of water samples revealed that water samples were acidic to slightly alkaline in nature. The EC value revealed that water samples were medium salinity except one sample and also good for irrigation. According to drinking water standard Mn toxicity was detected in pond water. Considering Na, Ca and S ions pond water was safe for irrigation and aquaculture. In case of K ion, all the samples were suitable for irrigation but unsuitable for aquaculture.J. Environ.
