To study the effect of ignition mode and position on fragment velocity of azimuthal warhead, a simulation model was established and computed. Simulation analysis results of azimuthal warhead showed that two ignition points mode was more valuable than the three ignition points mode, the fragment velocity curve had increasing trend in 0°~180° radial direction, ignition positions near to the edge of main charge end had the highest performance-cost ratio in the practical application.

In this paper, a numerical simulation model based on discrete element method (DEM) has been developed to analyze the burden distribution in the Melter gasifier of COREX process. The burden trajectory, the location and the burden surface profile are analyzed in the top charging of melter gasifier. The distribution of ore and coke and the porosity in the radial direction are given under the different charging mode. The results can be used to optimize the charging patterns in order to obtain the reasonable gas distribution.

Dynamic consolidation has been widely used in many engineering fields. But in the use of discarded iron slag filled embankment, because the discarded iron slag is naturally piled up, multi-size particle mixture and backfilling height is relatively high, the effect of simple dynamic compaction is not obvious. This paper, combined with engineering examples, through the dynamic consolidation test, describes the experimental program, arrangement and spacing of tamping point, and matters need to be taken care in construction. It also explains the horizontal effects in consolidation by detection data analysis of waste iron slag roadbed. In this paper, we have established finite element numerical simulation analysis of dynamic consolidation by using FLAC3D. It is available in roadbed practical application and can be reference in similar projects of dynamic consolidation.

In order to analyse the rock breakage process of double-edge ball tooth hob cutter and get the related curve of intrusive force and invasion depth, the numerical simulation model of double-edge ball tooth hob cutter is accurately established. In the process of interaction between hob cutter and rock mass, the material model is also established, the mechanism of rock fragmentation is carefully researched, the elastic-plastic deformation is seriously studied. Finally, we design an experiment which has a good consistency with the simulation analysis.

We examined the possibility of improved runoff control in a porous asphalt pavement by installing beneath it an infiltration pipe with a numerical simulation model that can simulate rainfall infiltration and runoff at the porous asphalt pavement. From the results of simulations about runoff and infiltration at the porous asphalt pavement, it became clear that putting a pipe under the porous asphalt pavement had considerable effect, especially during the latter part of the rainfall.
