The massive data in Data centers network will be frequently accessed massive datasets for cloud services, which will lead to some new requirements and becomes an important issue for interconnection topology and data management in cloud computing. According to the cost-effective, the paper proposes a new interconnection network MyHeawood for cloud computing. MyHeawood is constructed by small switches and servers with dual-port NIC according to recursive method. The data placement strategy in MyHeawood is a hashing algorithm based on the family of hash functions. MyHeawood uses three replicas strategy base on master copy, which is allocated in different sub layer to improve the reliability of data.

The article describes the main characteristics, types and properties of cloud computing. The most widespread cloud technologies in Ukraine are analyzed. It is identified that the largest share among users of cloud technologies in Ukraine currently belong to large holdings, IT companies, commercial enterprises and banks, but other sectors of business are also involved in the development of these services. The aim of the article is to develop the methodology for evaluating the efficiency of cloud technologies implementation at enterprises and its experimental verification. The economic component of the cloud computing implementation at enterprises (expenditures and revenues of both cloud technology owners and users) is considered. The efficiency of using cloud computing at enterprises is proved. It is found that organizations usually do not use the power of their personal data centers to a full extent. This leads to idle equipment, extra cost on maintenance and servicing of hardware, amortization, staff salaries and etc. The feasibility of transition of enterprises to cloud computing in such situations has been proved, which considerably reduce the costs of the enterprise due to the absence of need for hardware and necessary staff to support the operation of information systems. Usability of the methodology of total cost of ownership in evaluating the effectiveness of using services for the enterprise has been proved. The proposed methodology compares the main costs of using personal data centers and the cost of using cloud computing. It is experimentally proven that in most cases, the cost of maintaining personal data center (PDC) is higher than the cost of cloud services. It is also proved that the efficiency of cloud technology operation depends on the internal structure and organization of computing processes inside the systems, as well as on external factors such as the size of enterprises-clients, industries, costs for the organization of data centers, etc. Cloud computing is an advanced technology which has future prospects and is cost-effective for both enterprise users and provider organizations.

As this is the age of technology and every day we are receiving the news about growing popularity of internet and its applications. Cloud computing is an emerging paradigm of today that is rapidly accepted by the industry/organizations/educational institutions etc. for various applications and purpose. As computing is related to distributed and parallel computing which are from a very long time in the market, but today is the world of cloud computing that reduces the cost of computing by focusing on personal computing to data center computing. Cloud computing architecture and standard provide a unique way for delivering computation services to cloud users. It is having a simple API (Application Platform Interface) to users for accessing storage, platform and hardware by paying-as-per-use basis. Services provided by cloud computing is as same as other utility oriented services like electricity bill, water, telephone etc. over shared network. There are many cloud services providers in the market for providing services like Google, Microsoft, Manjrasoft Aneka, etc.

Network forensics enables investigation and identification of network attacks through the retrieved digital content. The proliferation of smartphones and the cost-effective universal data access through cloud has made Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) a congenital target for network attacks. However, confines in carrying out forensics in MCC is interrelated with the autonomous cloud hosting companies and their policies for restricted access to the digital content in the back-end cloud platforms. It implies that existing Network Forensic Frameworks (NFFs) have limited impact in the MCC paradigm. To this end, we qualitatively analyze the adaptability of existing NFFs when applied to the MCC. Explicitly, the fundamental mechanisms of NFFs are highlighted and then analyzed using the most relevant parameters. A classification is proposed to help understand the anatomy of existing NFFs. Subsequently, a comparison is given that explores the functional similarities and deviations among NFFs. The paper concludes by discussing research challenges for progressive network forensics in MCC.

Cloud computing has intern the attention of today’s leading IT industries offering huge potential for more flexible, readily scalable and cost effective IT operation. There is a significant anticipation for emergent innovation and expanded capabilities of a cloud-based environment as the cloud services are still in the infant stage. With all technology innovation, the biggest gain will be realized when the Cloud services are efficiently utilized. One of the prime contributions of Cloud is its capacity to handle a huge amount of data for either processing or storing. The inadequacy of this model is that it is prone to disaster. Some of the popular scheduling techniques applied by the researchers and leading IT industries are Round Robin, Preemptive scheduling etc. This research focuses on a novel approach for disaster management through efficient scheduling mechanism.This paper presents a Priority Preemptive scheduling (PPS) with aging of the low priority jobs in Cloud for disaster management. The implementation results show that the jobs at any instance of time are provided with the resources and henceforth preventing them to enter the starvation, which is one of the prime causes for disaster.


Cloud computing is an internet-based service of delivering technology to users and an important technological facility where mutual resources are delivered on demand. Usage of cloud computing in educational Institutions provides students as well as administrative staff an opportunity to access various applications and knowledge swiftly. Its simplicity, upfront-cost, reduced downtime and less management effort make this service acceptable for all fragments of society particularly students and teachers. Despite the fact that the cloud computing technology is very useful, such as ease of access, cost effective. It has various issues like security violations, data confidentiality, data integrity, regional and geographical restrictions over the data. Safe cloud services are required to protect its users from different external threats such as disclosure or loss of data and compromising of users’ accounts. Users’ understanding about the cloud computing’s advantages, disadvantages and security issues can protect them from potential threats while ensuring its optimal usage in education. In this paper, a survey has been conducted to identify students understanding about the advantages, disadvantages and security issues regarding cloud computing in the educational sector. A sample of 212 respondents from graduate and undergraduate programs was taken to obtain required information. The findings reveal a lack of awareness about the use of cloud computing, its benefits, and security concerns and the implications of this deficiency are critical as multiple issues like outflow of personal data and its loss is faced by its users which may have adverse social, emotional and professional effects on student’s life. Considering the usefulness as well as the sensitivity of cloud computing in educational institutions, Authors propose maximum utilization of cloud computing in educational sector while ensuring the security of its users.

Cloud computing is the computing technology which provides resources like software, hardware, services over the internet. Cloud computing provides computation, software, data access, and storage services that do not require end- user knowledge of the physical location and configuration of the system that delivers the services. Cloud computing enables the user and organizations to store their data remotely and enjoy good quality applications on the demand without having any burden associated with local hardware resources and software managements but it possesses a new security risk towards correctness of data stored at cloud. The data storage in the cloud has been a promising issue in these days. This is due to the fact that the users are storing their valuable data and information in the cloud. The users should trust the cloud service providers to provide security for their data. Cloud storage services avoid the cost storage services avoids the cost expensive on software, personnel maintains and provides better performance less storage cost and scalability, cloud services through internet which increase their exposure to storage security vulnerabilities however security is one of the major drawbacks that preventing large organizations to enter into cloud computing environment. This work surveyed on several storage techniques and this advantage and its drawbacks.

Cloud computing as a disruptive technology has given a chance to explore computing as a utility. The pay as you go model provides a flexible model to optimize cost. For different needs, cloud computing offers different models and services to balance the cost, time and resources. Faster communication is the need of each academic institute today to facilitate a good learning environment in a shorter and effective time frame. Email as a medium of communication gives a pace and substance to academic needs, especially in business schools. This paper aims to present a comparative analysis of the costs (on premises vs. cloud) for email implementation. Google apps for education have been considered for cloud based email service. Results show that the net present value (NPV) of cost for on premises infrastructure is more than NPV of cost for cloud based email service. This suggests cloud based email service is a cost effective solution for Indian B-schools to adopt.

With the recent advancement in computing technologies, business and research applications are not only executed in the traditional systems such as enterprise systems and supercomputers (HPC systems) but also in the cloud. The traditional HPC systems are expensive and sometimes require huge start-up investment, technical and administrative support and job queuing. With the benefits of cloud computing, cloud services such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Hardware as a Service (HaaS), enables business, scientists and researchers to run their business and HPC applications in the cloud without upfront investment associated with the traditional infrastructures. Therefore, in this paper we analyze the computational performance and dollar cost of running HPC applications in the cloud when IaaS or HaaS is leased. We find that HaaS significantly reduces the cost of running HPC application in the cloud by 20% compare to IaaS without significant impact to application's performance. We also found that there is a substantial improvement in computational performance in HaaS compare to IaaS.

Healthcare organisations are forced to reconsider their current business practices and embark on a cloud adoption journey. Cloud-Computing offers important benefits that make it attractive for healthcare (e.g. cost effective model, big data management etc.). Large Information Technology (IT) companies are investing big sums in building infrastructure, services, tools and applications to facilitate Cloud-Computing for healthcare organisations, practitioners and patients. Yet, many challenges that such integration projects contain are still in the e-health research agenda like design and technology requirements to handle big volume of data, ensure scalability and user satisfaction to name a few. The purpose of this chapter is (a) to address the Cloud-Computing services for healthcare in the form of a Personal Healthcare record (PHR) and (b) demonstrate a multidisciplinary project. In doing so, the authors aim at increasing the awareness of this important endeavour and provide insights on Cloud-Computing e-health services for healthcare organisations.
