Abstract The object of the research is an isothermal tank container for storage and transportation of liquefied natural gases, which requires special operating conditions and is related to a technological facility of increased danger. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the type and thickness of the insulating material to reduce the losses of liquefied natural gas during storage and transportation. Based on the results of the analysis, effective insulation materials were selected for use in cryogenic tanks for isothermal storage of LNG, the optimal thickness of the insulation material was determined, which provides the required level of losses for gas evaporation.

The article considers the tasks of intellectual support for decision support in relation to a complex technological object. The relevance is determined by a high level of responsibility, together with a variety of possible situations at a complex technological facility. The authors consider case-based reasoning (CBR) as a method for decision support. For a complex technological object, the problem defined is the uniqueness of the situations, which is determined by a variety of elements and the possible environmental influence. This problem complicates the implementation of CBR, especially the stages of comparing situations and a further selection of the most similar situation from the database. As a solution to this problem, the authors consider the use of neural networks. The work examines two neural network architectures. The first part of the research presents a neural network model that builds upon the multilayer perceptron. The second part considers the “Comparator-Adder” architecture. Experiments have shown that the proposed neural network architecture “Comparator-Adder” showed higher accuracy than the multilayer perceptron for the considered tasks of comparing situations. The results have a high level of generalization and can be used for decision support in various subject areas and systems where complex technological objects arise.

This study developed models to solve problems of optimisation, production, and consumption in waste management based on methods of system analysis. Mathematical models of the problems of optimisation and sustainable waste management in deterministic conditions and in a fuzzy environment were formulated. The income from production was maximised considering environmental standards that apply to the field of macroeconomics and microeconomics. The proposed approach used MANAGER software to formalise and solve the problem of revenue optimisation with production waste management to optimise the production of oil products with waste management at a specific technological facility of the Atyrau oil refinery in Kazakhstan. Based on the combined application of the principles of maximin and Pareto optimality, a formulation of the problem of production optimisation with waste management was obtained and a heuristic algorithm for solving the formulated fuzzy optimisation problem with waste management was developed.

Cloud computing is an internet-based service of delivering technology to users and an important technological facility where mutual resources are delivered on demand. Usage of cloud computing in educational Institutions provides students as well as administrative staff an opportunity to access various applications and knowledge swiftly. Its simplicity, upfront-cost, reduced downtime and less management effort make this service acceptable for all fragments of society particularly students and teachers. Despite the fact that the cloud computing technology is very useful, such as ease of access, cost effective. It has various issues like security violations, data confidentiality, data integrity, regional and geographical restrictions over the data. Safe cloud services are required to protect its users from different external threats such as disclosure or loss of data and compromising of users’ accounts. Users’ understanding about the cloud computing’s advantages, disadvantages and security issues can protect them from potential threats while ensuring its optimal usage in education. In this paper, a survey has been conducted to identify students understanding about the advantages, disadvantages and security issues regarding cloud computing in the educational sector. A sample of 212 respondents from graduate and undergraduate programs was taken to obtain required information. The findings reveal a lack of awareness about the use of cloud computing, its benefits, and security concerns and the implications of this deficiency are critical as multiple issues like outflow of personal data and its loss is faced by its users which may have adverse social, emotional and professional effects on student’s life. Considering the usefulness as well as the sensitivity of cloud computing in educational institutions, Authors propose maximum utilization of cloud computing in educational sector while ensuring the security of its users.

The role of a mining machine operator gradually reduces to monitoring and managing a technological facility in difficult situations as mining automation increases. The increasing complexity of mining technology leads to the fact that the driver’s qualification must be very high in accordance with the requirements of modern mining processes. The main characteristics of the work of the career excavator driver in the «man-machine-environment» system are faultlessness, speed, accuracy, reliability. The effectiveness of the entire system depends on how the human operator’s participation will be organized in the process of managing the facility.

The countries of the Middle East are undergoing rapid change in many areas, and the field of education is illustrative. This is particularly the case for the members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The governments of the GCC are actively striving to lessen their dependence on both their petroleum-based economies as well as the large expatriate populations that make up the majority of human resources in the workplace. One of the solutions to greater independence is through upgrading the national educational systems. Educational technology plays a key role, both as a tool used in education as well as being a conduit toward embedding technological facility into every aspect of their economic development, and thus is an end in itself.
