This paper research video stream collected and compressed to H.264 format in video surveillance system, saving as readable video file via network. On the basis of introducing H.264 standard and AVI format, the paper analyzed video data acquisition in the condition of multi-channel and packet losing in network, and proposed the corresponding method. According to the analysis and method, the paper proposed the storage algorithm implementation steps of storing H.264 video stream in AVI format file.

Cloud-based video surveillance systems, as a new cloud computing service model, are an emerging research topic, both at home and abroad. Current research is mainly focused on exploring applications of the system. This paper proposes a design and implementation method for cloud-based video surveillance systems using the characteristics of cloud computing, such as parallel computing, large storage space, and easy expandability. The system architecture and function modules are built, and a prototype cloud-based video surveillance system is established in a campus network using key technologies, including virtual machine task access control, video-data distributed storage, and database-active communicationmethods. Using the system, the user is able to place a webcam in a location that requires monitoring so that video surveillance can be achieved, and video data can be viewed through a browser. The system has the following advantages: low investment and maintenance cost, high portability, easily extendable, superior data security, and excellent sharing. As a private cloud server in the campus network, the system is able to not only provide convenient video surveillance services, but it can also be an excellent practical experimental platform for cloud computing-related research, which carries outstanding application value.

A video management way based on Oracle interMedia is proposed, to make up the shortages of single classify and low search efficiency based on files in traditional video surveillance system. The solution is designed on structural description model for video, proposed a classify way which described the video from attribute, character, main frame summary and video data. Adopt interMedia to create table in Oracle, achieve classify storage for video and description. At last, design the test software in VC. Experimental results show that the video can storage in Oracle well, compared with the traditional file storage way, it has a better classify storage and search efficiency.

As people for the need on more security, traditional fixed video surveillance cannot satisfied with people’s varying requirements. This paper demonstrates the framework of a set of mobile video surveillance which support CDMA2000/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA network, RTP protocol is chosen as the transport protocol and H.264 is chosen as the video compression standard. Select RTCP protocol gather packet loss fraction parameter that controls the transmission rate of RTP traffic. We analyze RTP/RTCP protocol and media data transmission process in video surveillance system; discuss the current video transmission method in video surveillance system, the problem of packet loss while transporting video data, and extract packet process of RTP packet.

Wireless video surveillance is of increasing importance. Many wireless video surveillance systems require a well optimized video codec for low-power operations. Compression of the captured video is normally needed in order to reduce the amount of video data to be delivered as well as to increase the video storage capability of the surveillance system. In this paper, a method which can greatly reduce the complexity for one of the most time-consuming parts in a video encoder was proposed.

Change detection is one of the several important problems in the design of any automated video surveillance system. Appropriate selection of frames of significant changes can minimize the communication and processing overheads for such systems. This research presents the design of a VLSI architecture for change detection in a video sequence and its implementation on Virtex-IIPro FPGA platform. Clustering-based scheme is used for change detection. The proposed system is designed to meet the real-time requirements of video surveillance applications. It robustly detects the changes in a video stream in real time at 25 frames per second (fps) in gray scale CIF size video.

In order to get information timely when elderly people fall down and need assistance, a kind of intelligent video surveillance system is designed and implemented. By using this system, the elderly dont need to wear any device. The H.264 video standard, the embedded technology, network technology, video surveillance technology and image processing technology are mixed used to detect human gesture in the video stream monitored. This system updates the background by the Gauss mixture model. The moving target is segmented by using the background subtraction algorithm. Experiments show that the system can be remote monitoring and detecting attitude. When the people falls down the system can automatically alarm, and satisfy the requirement of the timeliness, accuracy and stability.
