A malononitrile derivative, 6-Amino-5,5,7-tricyano-3,3a,4,5-tetrahydro-2H-indene-4- Spirocyclopentane was synthesized in ethanol with malononitrile and cyclopentanone as raw materials. It was characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. The crystal of the title complex belongs to Triclinic, P21/c space group with a=6.4687(13)Å, b=8.9901(18)Å, c=12.004(2)Å, α=93.55(3) deg, β=91.86(3) deg, γ=92.25(3) deg. V=695.8(2)Å3, Z=2, F(000)=278 and final R1=0.0524,WR2=0.1497. X-ray analysis reveals that The cyclohexene ring has a distorted half-chair conformation and the cyclopentene and cyclopentane rings adopt envelope conformations. The dihedral angles between planar fragments of the cyclohexene and cyclopentene rings and of the cyclohexene and cyclopentane rings are 10.67 (7) and 87.33 (3)°, respectively. In the crystal, intermolecular N-HN hydrogen bonds link the molecules into infinite chains running in the [10] direction.

The title complex was synthesised and its structure determined by x-ray crystallography. The structure contains two hydrogen bonds between the phosphoryl oxygen atom and the two meta-toluidinium ions. The P–N bond lengths are significantly different and the differences, attributed to varying p π-d π interactions along the bonds, confirm earlier observations on tri-para-toluidylphosphazenyl oxide.

The title complex was isolated as a red solid from the reaction of 4-(salicylaldiminato)antipyrine, HL, and cobalt (II) acetate in ethanol. The complex has been characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, UV-Vis, and X-ray single crystal diffraction. Two crystallographically different cationic units, A and B, of the title complex are found. Both units are essentially isostructural; nevertheless, small differences exist between them. Both units contain four cobalt atoms arranged at the corners of distorted cubane-like core alternatively with phenoxy oxygen of the Schiff base. In both cases, one cobalt binds to three coordinated sites from the corresponding tridentate Schiff base ligand, and the fourth one was bonded by the acetate oxygen, and the fifth and the sixth donor sites come from the phenolate oxygen of another Schiff base ligand.

The crystal structure of the title complex, [Pb3(C4H7O2)6(H2O)2] n , was redetermined on basis of modern CCD-based single-crystal X-ray data at 120 K. The current study basically confirms the previous report [Fallon et al. (1997). Polyhedron, 16, 19–23] at 190 K, but with higher accuracy and precision. In particular, positional disorder of one of the 2-methylpropanoate anions over two sets of sites was resolved, showing a refined ratio of the disorder components of 0.535 (9):0.465 (9). The three independent cations in the structure have coordination numbers of [7 + 1], [6 + 1], and [5 + 3], with O atoms belonging either to carboxylate groups or water molecules. This arrangement leads to the formation of sheets parallel to (\overline{1}01), whereby the hydrophobic 2-methylpropanyl groups of the anions are oriented above and below the hydrophilic sheets to form a layered structure. Within a sheet, hydrogen bonds of the type Owater—H...O are formed, whereas the hydrophobic groups between adjacent layers interact through van der Waals forces.

In the title molecule, C15H12O3, the C atoms bearing the hydroxy group and the phenyl ring are disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.573 (7) and 0.427 (7). There is also disorder of the phenyl ring but the hydroxy group was refined as ordered. The dihedral angles between the benzene ring of the chromane ring system and the phenyl ring are 89.7 (2)° for the major component of disorder and 72.1 (3)° for the minor component. Both disorder components of the the dihydropyran ring are in a half-chair conformation. In the crystal, molecules are linked by pairs of O—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with anR22(10) graph-set motif. Weak C—H...π interactions link these dimers into ladders along [001].

A novel ligand containing sulfonic has been synthesized using 2-formylbenzenesulfonic sodium and 3-thiosemicarbazide as starting materials, and a Er (III) complex was synthesized. The ligand was characterized by element analysis and IR spectrum. The crystal structure of the Er (III) complex was determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The results showed that the compound was triclinic, with P-1, a = 1.0596(4) nm, b = 1.3700(5) nm, c = 1.8305(7) nm, V = 2.4726(16) nm3, Z=2, M r= 1244.42, De =1.671 g/cm3, T = 273(2) K, F (000) = 1270, R = 0.0517 and wR = 0.1124. The complex forms two-dimensional layered structure through hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking.

The interesting three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded self-assembled network of [(CH2)6N4CH3]+ cations and [CoCl4]2– anions has been prepared and structurally characterized. In the title complex, the quaternization of one hexamethylenetetramine nitrogen atom has been trapped, and further stabilized by the large [CoCl4]2– anions, featuring C–HCl hydrogen bonds (3.497–3.709 ) between the methylene groups of [(CH2)6N4CH3]+ cations and the chlorine atoms of the [CoCl4]2– anions.

In the title compound, C17H20ClN3OS, the mean plane of the central thiourea core makes dihedral angles of 26.56 (9) and 47.62 (12)° with the mean planes of the chromene moiety and the cyclohexyl ring, respectively. The cyclohexyl ring adopts a chair conformation. The N–H atoms of the thiourea unit adopt ananticonformation. The chromene group is positionedtrans, whereas the cyclohexyl ring lies in thecisposition to the thione S atom, with respect to the thiourea C—N bond. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H...S hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers enclosingR22(8) ring motifs. The dimers are linked by C—H...Cl hydrogen bonds, enclosingR66(44) ring motifs, forming sheets lying parallel to (010).

In the title compound, C22H18N2O4, the three fused rings of the pyrazolophthalazine moiety are coplanar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.027 Å). The cyclohexene ring fused to the pyrazolidine ring, so forming the indazolophthalazine unit, has a half-chair conformation. The benzene ring is almost normal to the mean plane of the pyrazolophthalazine moiety, with a dihedral angle of 87.21 (6)° between their planes. In the crystal, molecules are linked by pairs of C—H...O hydrogen bonds forming inversion dimers. The dimers are linkedviaC—H...π interactions, forming slabs parallel to (100). Between the slabs there are weak π–π interactions [shortest inter-centroid distance = 3.6664 (9) Å], leading to the formation of a three-dimensional structure.
