Sorbent of CuO loaded on complex carrier of attapulgite and activated carbon was prepared by incipient impregnation method for flue gas desulfurization. The effects of CuO loading, reaction temperature and components in flue gas on the desulfurization performance were investigated in a fixed-bed quartz reactor. The experimental results indicate that the sorbents of 20 wt% CuO loading has a high desulfurization activity under conditions of reaction temperatures 200-250 oC and 21000 h-1, and O2 is necessary for the high desulfurization activity of the sorbents.

Sorbent of CuO loaded on the support of powder activated carbon and attapulgite for flue gas desulfurization was prepared by impregnation method and characterized by BET, SEM and XRD. The results of BET and SEM showed that the sorbent had a high structural porosity, while sorbent with 20 % CuO loading had the best desulfurization performance although CuO was dispersed at the surface of carrier in a way of multilayer according to XRD patterns.

This paper mainly studied the removal of Hg by biomass activated carbon in the simulated flue gas. Biomass activated carbon of different materials were made through the control of activator concentration, activation temperature in the self-developed biomass preparation system. In the fixed bed system, the flue gas Hg removal efficiency of activated carbon samples were evaluated. The experimental results showed that the adsorption performance of biomass activated carbon was not proportional with the change of the activator concentration and activation temperature, the overall trend was firstly increased and then decreased.

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) processes have been one of the most widely used denitration methods at present and the property of low tempreture catalyst becomes a hot research. The Mn-Ce/TiO2 catalyst was prepared by incipient impregnation method. The influence of load capacity, reaction temperature, O2 content, etc. on denitration were studied by a fixed bed catalyst reactor with ammonia gas. Results showed that catalyst with load capacity 18% performed high NO removal rate of 90% at conditions of reaction temperature 160°C, low space velocity, NH3/NO molar ratio 1: 1, O2 concentration 6%.

In this paper, we mainly introduced demonstration project of flue gas desulfurization and denitrification achieved by ozone oxidation and alkali wastewater. The System showed high automatization, which performed good adaptability and load tracking capacity on the concentration of SO2, NOXand variation of flue gas. Meanwhile, outlet concentration of the SO2and NOXcould meet the design requirements. The experimental results showed that the overall economy of designed process had certain advantages compared with conventional desulfurization and denitrification technologies.
