Research on Flotation Tests of Sulfide Copper Ore from Yunan

The mineral processing flow sheet and reagent system of flotation copper minerals from a large copper-iron deposit in Yunnan were fully investigated. The results indicate that the optimum conditions for flotation of copper minerals from the material were identified as grinding fineness of 85%, dosage of CaO at 2000g/t , dosage of Na2S at 200 g/t, dosage of butyl xanthate 40g/t. Under such a condition, a copper recovery of 88.17% with a concentrate grade of 26.86% was achieved from the material using a closed circuit flow sheet of "one-stage roughing flotation, one-stage cleaning flotation and one-stage scavenging flotation.

The study aims to comprehensive recovery of Cu, Mo, Co and Fe from copper polymetallic sulphide ore in Sichuan province, China. In the light of the minerals characteristics, a united flow sheet, i.e., flotation-magnetic separation with new powerful flotation reagents were used to effectively recovery copper together with the associated valuable metals (Mo, Co and Fe) from the ore. The result of the closed circuit experiment shows that a copper recovery of 93.38% with a concentrate grade of 21.25%, Mo recovery of 45.72% with a concentrate grade of 45.78%, Co recovery of 46.42% with a concentrate grade of 0.46% and Fe recovery of 38.26% with a concentrate grade of 63.73% were achieved from the ore.

A hydroxamate collector AM28 is used in conjunction with Potassium Amyl Xanthate (PAX) to allow the flotation of the low-grade copper oxide ores from DongChuan Mine. A series of batch laboratory scale flotation tests are conducted for oxide copper minerals to establish the flotation response and the suitability of the collectors. From the rougher flotation tests performed, the highest copper recovery obtained is 78.9% at a concentrate grade of 2.5% using AM28 dosage of 740g/t and PAX dosage of 20g/t. With one stage of cleaning, the obtained copper grade increases to 9.6% with the copper recovery at 64.9%.

Based on a single Yunnan copper sulfide, we conducted a series of flotation test research. The results indicate that the raw ore grade is 0.78%,by closed circuit process of 1stage of roughing, 1stage of scavenging and 2 stages of cleaning flotation, 14.85% concentrate grade with 92.49% recovery can be obtained, and the index is ideal.

For the characteristic of the high oxidation ratio and the high intergrowth ratio,the copper ore belongs to a kind of refractory ore.It could not get qualified concentrate and high recovery with the traditional flowsheet and general reagent system.In the case of stable grade of copper concentrate,the recovery of copper using composite reagent system could have a reasonably improve,which could reach to 84.49% at the copper concentrate grade of Cu 20.91%.

According to the ore nature of limonite in Xinjiang,use the technological process of one stage selectrifine high magnetic separation—reverse flotation to the limonite. the result show that at the fineness ore of -200order 60.0%, employ the closed-circuit process ,Limonite concentrates aining above 52.24% Fe could be obtained at a productive rate of 54.04% and a recovery of Fe about 67.03% losed circuit tests, and the numble of finally tailing is 47.76%,29.08%and 32.97%.

The ore containing 0.77%copper, the main metal minerals in the ore are hemesite, pyrite bornite, covellite, malachite, the main gangue minerals in the ore are quartzite, dolomite, plagioclase, Chlorite, calcite. And the copper oxidation ratio of the ore is 45.5%, According several flotation tests, finally found that the optimum reagents dosage are: butyl xanthate 90g/t as collector, pine oil 35g/t as foaming, sodium sulphide1000g/t, lime3000g/t, and the flow-sheet is one stage of roughing, three stage of cleaning and two stage of scavenging operationg in the close circuit under the grinding fineness is 85% -0.074mm.Satisfactory results had been obtained as the grade of is 18.06% with recovery 80.01%.

The study aims to recover copper minerals from a high content of slime and refractory copper oxide ore by flotation process. Based on the research on the properties of the material, the grinding fineness and reagent system are investigated and a technological flow sheet consisting of one roughing flotation, two concentrate flotation, three scavenging flotation and one concentrate-scavenging flotation is adopted. The optimum parameters of flotation experiment are determined as grinding fineness of 90%, dosage of CHO at 200 g/t, dosage of Na2S at 800 g/t and dosage of isoamyl xanthogenate at 1200 g/t. Under such a condition, a copper recovery of 75.03% with a concentrate grade of 18.01% is obtained,which provides a new way for separating the refractory copper oxide ore attached high content of slime.

The study aimed to explore appropriate flotation reagents to recover copper minerals from a high content of slime and refractory oxidized copper ores. Based on the research on the properties of the material, the reagent regime was investigated and a technological flowsheet consisting of one roughing flotation, two concentrate flotation, three scavenging flotation and one concentrate-scavenging flotation was adopted to perform the closed circuit floatation experiment. The optimum depressor of flotation experiment was determined as CHO, activator as (NH4)2SO4 and collector as isoamyl xanthogenate. Under such a condition of reagent types and their appropriate reagent dosages, a copper recovery of 75.03% with a concentrate grade of 18.01% was obtained.

Based on the chemical analysis and mineral composition research, a series condition tests were done with ore grade 1.45%.The optimum conditions were grinding fineness -0.074mm65%, collector as butyl xanthate- Ammonium aerofloat butyl(3:1) with 100g/t ,activator as sodium sulfide 200g/t,foaming agent as 2#oil of magnetite 30g/t. The result of tests showed that the grade of copper concentrate and the copper recovery are 8.98% and79.50% by adopting a circuit of one rough flotation, two scavenger.
