The reasonable deployment of micro-grid power supply determines the application domain and flexibility of micro grid. Because the micro-grid investors, beneficiary, management mode, etc. are fairly different from those of traditional power grid. From the perspective of micro grid users or operators, this paper analyzes the operating and maintenance cost of power pack of multi-energy source hybrid power supply, designs the micro-grid power pack model of multi-energy source hybrid power supply by use of static planning measure, aiming at the minimization of operating cost, and analyzes the power pack configuration under the condition of different minimum operating costs by case study and how to achieve the operating and maintenance profits and reliability.

The paper will present the implementation of a hybrid power supply for telecommunication and corresponding measuring equipment of remote measuring stations, which are an integral part of the flood protection system. Solar power is the primary energy source during the day, while in night conditions it is actually used as a distribution network (which also supplies street lighting). The power system is implemented with two controlled MPPT chargers (mains and solar), 12V / 110Ah battery bank and associated monitoring system. The paper will present key experimental results obtained during the release of a concrete realized measuring station and associated telecommunication equipment, on the Ub River, Ub Municipality.

Accessing electric vehicle (EV) into micro-grid (MG) by battery-swapping station (BSS) will not only reduce the negative impact brought by EVs which are directly accessed into MG, but also improve the capacity of MG to absorb more renewable energy. That BSS is regarded as schedulable load is guided to avoid peak and fill valley according to TOU. As a result, the gap between peak and valley of MG is decreased and the operation efficiency of MG is elevated. A specific MG is taken as the studying object and the minimum operating cost is regarded as the optimizing goal, then the genetic algorithm is used to optimize the outputting of each micro-source and the charging power of BSS so that the optimal operation is realized.

Aviation industry has grown rapidly since the first scheduled commercial aviation started one hundred years ago. There is a fast growth in the number of passengers, routes, and frequencies, with high revenues and low margins, which make this industry one of the most challenging businesses in the world. Every operator aims to undertake the minimum operating cost and gain profit as much as possible. One of the significant elements of operator’s operating cost is the maintenance cost. During maintenance scheduling, operator calculates the maintenance cost that it needs to budget. Previous works show that this calculation includes only costs that are directly related to the maintenance process such as cost of labor, material, and equipment. In some cases, overhead cost is also included. Some of previous works also discuss the existence of another cost throughout aircraft downtime, which is defined as cost of revenue loss. Nevertheless, there is not any standard model that shows how to define and calculate downtime cost. For that reason, the purpose of this paper is to introduce a new model and analysis technique that can be used to calculate aircraft downtime cost due to maintenance.

Installation of telecom towers in remote areas especially in developing countries like India is a major problem for telecom industries because of the unavailability of reliable power supply. The grid supply is not regular in these countries and up to some extent, they are dependent on diesel generators for power supply. But these diesel generators have some major issues such as high operating cost due to high cost of fuel, transportation cost of fuel, high maintenance cost, and these diesel generators also emits pollution to the environment. In presented work, an approach has been proposed for telecom companies for providing power supply to their telecom towers. An economic cost analysis has been proposed by considering various criteria such as cost, air & noise pollution and reliability, etc. Some power supply alternatives including unconventional and hybrid of conventional and unconventional alternatives have been compared to find the solution such as diesel-powered telecom towers, solar powered telecom towers, and their hybrids. The main objective of this work is to provide a reliable, cost effective and environment friendly Remote Area Power Supply (RAPS) system for a particular site in India (Uttar Pradesh). A number of criteria are involved in discussed problem in order to select an effective power supply source. Therefore, the problem has been considered as a Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. To select the best alternative, a Fuzzy AHP and TOPSIS based approach has been proposed. Fuzzy AHP (Analytic Hierarchy process) has been used for calculating the weightage of criteria and the concept of Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) has been applied for ranking the alternatives. The results give assured reliability and sustainability for remote areas using a solar photovoltaic (PV)-diesel generator hybrid energy system.

When Micro-grid (MG) is accessed into large scale of wind turbines, whose anti-peak-adjusting characteristic will increases difficulty of economic and safe operation about MG. The ability to participate in the system peak-adjustment of micro-turbine will be greatly limited, as the CHP run as “heat-load-based” mode and the electric power outputting depends on heat load demand. So that, installing heat boiler to absorb surplus wind power in the anti-peak-adjusting periods, and to combine with CHP supplying heat energy will decoupling “heat-load-based” constraint, and then the flexible schedulability of MG will be improved. The minimum operating cost of MG is regarded as optimizing object, Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize operational status of each unit in MG, then the heat and electricity comprehensive optimization is realized.

Reducing environmental pollution and achieving economic operation have become focus of the research about micro-grid (MG). The minimum operating cost and the minimum pollution emission cost are taken as optimizing objects, and the multi-object optimizing model of MG is established. The membership function is used to process multi-objective function, then the conversion of multi-object to single object is achieved. Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize the operating state of each unit, then the best operation mode is formed.
