Material selection is one of the vital and critical steps in the mechanical design process. In recent times, various tools based on the multi-criteria decision-making process are used successfully to cope with such complexity in material selection. .This work provides appropriate methods and tools to find the optimum thermoplastic polymer reinforced natural fiber composites. The material selection applied using a decision-making model that consists of the „Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution“ (TOPSIS) and „Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje“ (VIKOR) methods in order to rank of the materials according to applied criteria. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was performed in order to determine the weighting of the material properties or criteria. Rank the materials were gained by using ranking scores as results of the methods use. The results offer that the best polymers were found to be the LDPE and Nylon 6,6. It was proved that the multi-criteria decision-making model is an application for solving complex material choice decision problems. This model can be applied to other engineering applications with any number of alternatives and criteria for material selection.

Multi criteria decision making (MDCM) methods are amongst the approaches available in aiding composite designers to make the final decision especially during the material selection process where multiple solutions are present and various requirements are required to be satisfied simultaneously. Thus, in this paper, material selection process of thermoplastic matrix using MDCM methods for hybrid natural fiber/glass fiber polymer composites is presented. The aim is to identify the most suitable type of thermoplastic matrix to be used in the hybrid polymer composites formulation. The Weighted Sum Method (WSM) is applied in the selection process of seven candidate thermoplastic matrix materials based on the product design specifications. The overall analysis highlights that low density polyethylene (LDPE) is the preferred matrix for the intended application based on the highest scores obtained compared to other candidate materials. A signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio analysis was further performed to validate the initial selection results where LDPE once again outperformed other candidate materials with highest S/N ratio score in the non-compensatory approach.

Purpose of the study: This paper aims to elaborate on how the institutional logic of public housing provision transforms from the old logic into the new logic. By encapsulating tacit-knowledge from the shift, this study focuses on how to explicate a model of multi-criteria decision-making for executing official residence projects in Indonesia. This research also aims to recuperate the future of the public residency field. Methodology: The methodology employed was a mixed method. The qualitative method was firstly applied by utilizing semi-structured interviews to build a decision-making model. Later, a quantitative method was implemented to improve the consistency of the model by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process protocols. Thirteen project representatives and ten decision-makers were being involved as the main informants. Google Sheets web-based software was applied for analyzing survey results by making use of a mathematical model for the Analytical Hierarchy Process. Main Findings: The result indicates that land not used as paddy field, fair house price, safe from flood location, serene ambiance, and developer experience has played a significant part in affecting buying decisions for residency projects. To carry out the new method, the total scores of the AHP calculation should be above 50. Otherwise, the government shall opt for the old mechanism. Applications of this study: The paper contributes to the public sector accounting field in the area of asset management and public housing procurement. The paper also gives a strong basis for the field to make use of the model of Indonesia's public housing provision. The government can adopt the research framework for choosing the new model or the old one. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study might be the only one of its kind. The research was using a multi-method to achieve the objectives. To generate a multi-criteria decision-making model, grounded data of excessive interviews were abstracted. Then the abstracted tacit-knowledge was tested with AHP to provide a consistent model.

The commercial banks (CBs) performance evaluating has been a necessary problem in currently integration trend and usually implemented by a committee of experts under criteria selected. Therefore, it is considered as a Multi - Criteria Decision - Making model (MCDM). Nowadays, there have been many researches proposing various standards and models to evaluate and rank CBs. But in Vietnam, the number of studies related to the Vietnamese banking evaluation model have still been limited. As a result, this study develops a multi-criteria decision model integrating Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and Fuzzy the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (FTOPSIS). The proposed model has evaluated and ranked five Vietnamese commercial banks including CTG, VCB, BIDV, TCB and MB. The paper revealed their ranks. Besides, the results of the research show that the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model is suitable for applying it to the process evaluating bank performance.

Banking has always played an important role in the economy because of its effects on individuals as well as on the economy. In the process of renovation and modernization of the country, the system of commercial banks has changed dramatically. Business models and services have become more diversified. Therefore, the performance of commercial banks is always attracting the attention of managers, supervisors, banks and customers. Bank ranking can be viewed as a multi-criteria decision model. This article uses the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method to rank some commercial banks in Vietnam.

The COVID-19 emergency is affecting manufacturing industries all over the world. Notably, it has generated several issues in the products’ supply and the global value chain in African countries. Besides this, Africa’s manufacturing value-added rate grew only 1.5 since 2018, and the foreign direct investment (FDI) from multinational enterprises (MNEs) remains very low due to high-risk factors. Most of these factors are linked to a non-optimized location selection that can adversely affect plant performance. For these reasons, supporting decision-makers in selecting the suitable country location in Africa is crucial, both for contributing to countries’ growth and companies’ performance. This research aims at presenting a comprehensive multi-criteria decision-making model (MCDM) to be used by MNEs to evaluate the best countries to develop new manufacturing settlements, highlighting the criteria that COVID-19 has impacted. Thus, it has affected countries’ performance, impacting the plant location selection choices. A combination of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods have also been used for comparative analysis. The criteria used in the proposed approach have been validated with a panel of MNEs experts.
