The joint research of scientists of two countries deals with cylindrical and surface grinding with abrasive wheels of heat-resistant steel Inconel 625 (KhN77TYu GOST 5632 – 72 Russian Federation standard), (analogues include Hastalloy, N07080, Alloy 80A, Nimonic 80A, 2.4952 ASTM B637/ASME SB637, UNS N07080). The article shows the results of studies of the features of high-temperature steel during grinding with a fastened abrasive. The results of experiments are given to determine the optimal characteristics of grinding wheels, grinding modes, cooling-lubricant fluids. Experimental data about geometric accuracy, surface roughness, resistance of wheels are demonstrated as well. The ways to prevent from defects during cylindrical and surface grinding of high-strength steel are proposed. The recommendations to increase the tool resistance and output of the process are given.

High strength 9%Cr-W ferritic heat resistant steel (ASME SA213 T92, KA-STABA29) was developed as the materials for high temperature application in USC plant with a temperature at 600°C and higher pressure than 25 MPa in steam conditions. The Gr.92 contains much W, and therefore, its creep property is attained by solute dragging of W on the dislocation gliding motion and also Nb and V forms concerning MX the precipitation strengthening mechanism. This material was installed as tertiary super heater of Tobata Co-operative Thermal Power Plant, and the plant had been operated about 15 years without any trouble. In this report, stability of several properties of ex-serviced Gr.92 steel was evaluated [1,2].

Abstract Nimonic 80 and Nimonic 80A are nickel-base alloys containing a high percentage of chromium, with aluminum and titanium as hardening agents. They are made to the same compositional specification, but Nimonic 80A is produced to meet a more severe requirement with respect to resistance to creep when stressed at higher temperatures than Nimonic 80. Both alloys show high strength at high temperature levels and are very resistant to scaling, oxidation, heat and corrosion. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Ni-10. Producer or source: Henry Wiggin & Company Ltd.
