Rural population of Jamtara district of Jharkhand use different plant parts for their hair-care and face-care. They are dependent of natural products because the poverty ridden population can’t afford the expensive modern synthetic cosmetics for protecting their face, skin and hair. The most important plants are Aloe-vera, Acacia catechu (Kattha) Azadirachta indica, Centella asiatica, Madhuca latifolia and Lawsonia inermis etc.
