Background: Hair loss is a relatively common occurrence that causes concern in people of all ages. In most cases, hair loss is permanent, but it can lead to alopecia. Hair root activation is necessary to improve hair development and prevent hair loss. Herbal cosmetics are increasingly widely used by the general public due to the concept of fewer adverse effects and a higher level of safety and security. Objective: The primary goal of this study is to prepare and evaluate herbal hair oil made from fresh components of various plants. Methods: Herbs were acquired from Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology's medicinal garden. Herbs were collected, dried, then ground in a mortar and pestle. Grinded herbs (Murraya koenigii, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn., Nigella sativa, Trigonella foenum-graecum) were combined with 60% Cocos nucifera oil, heated, cooled, and filtered. Physical appearance, viscosity, pH, sensitivity test, hair growth activity, hair weight, antimicrobial test, stability test, and other criteria were determined and are reported in this text for the created herbal hair oil. Results: Herbal hair oil was odourless and reddish brown in appearance. Herbal hair oil had an appropriate refractive index, pH, saponification value, and specific gravity. After application, the herbal oil demonstrated Newtonian flow, as well as good hair growth and weight, with no irritation. Phytochemical screening showed the presence of ascorbic acid, sulphur and saponins. The formulation was found to be stable for 30 days. Conclusion: Conclusively, combination of effective herbs could be used to improve hair growth.

Herbal cosmetics are formulated by using different cosmetic ingredients to form the base in which one or more herbal ingredients are wont to cure various skin ailment. The name suggests that herbal cosmetics are natural and free from all the harmful synthetic chemicals which otherwise may convince be toxic to the skin. Compared to other beauty products, natural cosmetics are safe to use. They are hypo-allergenic and tested and proven by dermatologists to be safe to use anytime, anywhere. Cosmeceuticals are cosmeticpharmaceutical hybrid products intended to enhance the health and wonder of the skin by providing a selected result, starting from acne-control and anti-wrinkle effects to sun protection. Cosmeceuticals have medicinal benefits which affect the biological functioning of skin depending upon the sort of functional ingredients they contain. These are cosmetic products that aren't just used for beautification but for different skin ailments. These products improve the functioning/texture of the skin by boosting collagen growth by eradicating harmful effects of free radicals, maintain keratin structure in good condition, and making the skin healthier. There are numerous herbs available naturally having different uses in cosmetic preparations for skin care, hair care, and as antioxidants. The current review highlights the importance of herbal cosmetics, the herbs used in them, and their advantages over their synthetic counterparts.

Saffron (Crocus sativus) is a plant that has been widely used in Asia, especially in the health sector. This can be related to other than that saffron is also known for its use as a cosmetic because Saffron has various kinds of pharmacological activities beneficial to human skin. Today's cosmetic users prefer cosmetics with herbal or natural ingredients, especially in Indonesia. This happens because it is considered that herbal cosmetics are safer and harmless in long-term use. Therefore, it is necessary to do related act ivities of saffron as a cosmetic ingredient. This is narrative research where the data is obtained from PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar with keywords Saffron, Saffron for cosmetics, and others. There were eight references, with inclusion criteria being national and international journals and national websites published in 2011-2021, especially regarding the study of saffron activity as an ingredient for cosmetics. Then the data is analyzed narratively. It was found that Saffron (Crocus sativus) contains compounds that have a cosmetic activity such as safranal which can be used as a perfume, crocin as an antioxidant and as anti-dark spot, crocin, safranal, and crocetin as anti-UV, crocin, and crocetin as an anti-inflammatory and as coloring pigment in cosmetics, vitamin C, flavonoids and zinc as a face toner, kaempferol, crocin and crocetin as anti-wrinkle, zeaxanthin, lycopene, carotene, crocetin, picrocrocin, kaempferol, and crocin as anti-aging. Powders, creams, face packs, moisturisers, lotions, shampoo, hair oil, hair conditioners, nail paint, and other cosmetics are included. A attractive guy or beautiful lady must have soft, lustrous, and healthy skin and hair. Skin damage may be caused by a variety of factors in the environment, including bacteria, chemical poisons, and chemicals. Sandalwood and Turmeric have generally been utilized by Indian people for skin treatment, Henna to shading their hair, hands, and soles, and regular oils to fragrance their bodies. Broad home grown magnificence medicines were in the past acted in India's imperial royal residences to uplift erotic allure and protect general tidiness. Natural face wash, home grown conditioner, natural cleanser, and home grown cleanser are instances of natural beauty care products that are created and utilized consistently. Herbal cosmetics are formulations that combine active bio-ingredients, neutraceuticals, or medicines with cosmetics. The concept of beauty is as old as humanity itself. It is the natural desire of every human being to look beautiful and glamorous. The beauty and glamour are because of perfect skin. Herbs have been used for beautification from historic times and have also been described in Ayurvedic literature. Herbs as whole or herbal extracts have been used to treat the various ailments of the skin, hair, body odor, and overall beautification. The demand for Ayurveda in cosmetology is established because it is effective, cheaper, and long-lasting without any side effects. The present study aimed to formulate and evaluate the beneficial effect of herbal Lepa formulation for beautification. Beautification in terms of skin lightening, removal of scars and pigmentation, dark circles, and ultimately healthy glowing skin. The advantage of herbal cosmetics compared to chemical products is they are non-toxic in nature. The Lepa formulation is the suitable dosage form prepared using various natural components in the appropriate and desired quantity for better effectiveness. The formulation has shown significant improvement in various skin problems, including skin pigmentation, melasma, acne marks, and skin lightening effect with no further moisturizing cream requirements.

There are thousands of herbs that are used in preparation of various herbal cosmetics and toiletries preparations. Day-by-day, use of herbal cosmetics and toiletries preparations are increasing as currently available cosmetics are showing unwanted effects upon prolong used. They are prepared by using different herbs or their extracts or juice derived from them. Herbal cosmetics and toiletries preparations are being used by Indian peoples and peoples from Indian sub-continental region since ancient time. They are used to improve the appearance of the skin. Herbal cosmetics are becoming more popular because they are comparatively cheaper, safe and easily available. WHO as well as AYUSH department of India, encourages the peoples to use these types of cosmetics for routine use. In the present paper, we have covered various pharmacognostic and relevant information of medicinal plants used in the cosmetics and toiletries preparations.

Background: In the mammalian system, the hair follicle is known to be the most significant organ that determines appearance, gender distinction, provides intense temperature protection, and plays a role in self-defense. The younger generations have begun to suffer from extreme hair loss problems due to many lifestyle-related changes such as fatigue, anxiety, intake of junk foods, use of different hairstyling/coloring methods, etc. The loss of hair is not temporary in most cases, but it results in alopecia. Many people suffering from hair loss are in search of multiple treatments due to extreme anxiety and tension, from mythology to traditional and therapeutic healing to the use of minoxidil and finasteride. To improve hair growth and to prevent hair loss, hair root activation is required. Objective: The present study was intended to use different herbs to formulate herbal hair serum for general purposes (hair application). Methods: Crude herbs are obtained from nearby regions. In order to obtain the extract, the required part of herbs, such as Citrus sinensis peel, Zingiber officinale roots, and Linum usitatissimum seeds, Nigella sativa, and Trigonella foenum-graecum were specifically weighed and dispensed in water, boiled, allowed to cool, and then filtered. To the filtrate, castor oil and vitamin E were added. The formulated herbal hair serum was tested, and different criteria were determined and recorded in this text, such as physical appearance, viscosity, pH, homogeneity, eye sensitivity (Draize eye test), hair growth activity, hair weight, stability test, etc. Results: Prepared herbal hair serum was found to be pale brown in color with pseudoplastic behavior. The texture of the formulation was smooth and lubricative, and the pH was within the acceptable limit. Herbal hair serum revealed good hair growth as well as hair weight after application with minor sensitivity for the first time. The formulation was found to be stable for seven days. Conclusion: Herbal cosmetics are still commonly used by average citizens because of fewer side effects and greater protection and safety profile. Current research has revealed that herbal formulations are effective in enhancing hair consistency.

The present study was done to formu- late and evaluate herbal lipstick as they reduce the side effects and increase the usage of natural colorants. Herbal lipstick is a cosmetic product containing pigments, waxes, oils, fragrance, preservatives, Antioxidants and col- ours. Lipstick formulation is used to protect and to increase the beauty of lips. It is easy to use and handle by women. Herbal lipsticks have minimum side effects. In herbal lipstick development, there are many natural ingre- dients or nutrients which are safe for lips and keep it healthy. Herbal lipsticks are free from hazardous chemicals. Herbal Lipstick having many advantages it should be protects lips from dryness and cracking. The formulated herbal lipstick was evaluated with several parameters like smoothness, greatness, melting point, breaking point and pH.
