The low-voltage distribution system is the key component of the electrical power system. Some analysis and research of the low-voltage distribution system is carried out in this paper, which provides some scientific basis to design the low-voltage distribution system. Firstly, the summarize of low-voltage distribution system is taken. The influence to productions and livings of low-voltage distribution system is introduced. Secondly, the mode of connection and design philosophy of low-voltage distribution system is studied in detail, especially the high-rise buildings low-voltage distribution system is concluded and summarized.

Abstract With the continuous improvement of intelligent and automatic level of electrical system in high-rise buildings, the structure of electrical equipment in high-rise buildings is becoming more and more complex, and the total load is also increasing. Higher requirements are put forward for the safety design of its power distribution system. The safety design of low-voltage power distribution system is more and more important for the reliability and safety of the electrical system in high-rise buildings. Based on this, this paper first introduces the high-rise building power transformation and distribution system, including the reliability analysis of high-rise building power distribution system, power supply solutions, etc. Secondly, it analyses the design of low-voltage distribution system in the electrical design of high-rise buildings, and finally studies the safety optimization of low-voltage distribution system in the electrical design of high-rise buildings.

As an important electrical safety protection device in low voltage distribution system, residual current protection device is to protect the insulation line leakage fault; the electric shock of the people plays an important role in fault. From the protection characteristics of residual current protective device to points, those can be divided into, residual current protection device for residual pulsating direct current and residual dc, according to the residual sinusoidal alternating current.

Realizing a smart Low Voltage Distribution System (LVDS) is essential to realize a smart grid. Restructuring the existing distribution system into microgrids is one important requirement to achieve a smart LVDS. The realization of microgrids in LVDS can take different shapes in different countries. This article discusses the challenges and practical solutions to realize a smart LVDS for radial distribution grids, which are common in India. The network following a distribution transformer can be distinguished as a microgrid for radial low voltage distribution grids. However, this leads to many operational issues. Therefore, this article envisions replacing the Low Voltage distribution transformers with Solid-State Transformers (SSTs). This will enable the LVDS to control the power exchange between the phases within a microgrid as well as power exchange between different microgrids. The architectural design of a smart home in smart LVDS is outlined to complete the discussion. Various unique features required for smart inverters in a smart home and existing grid codes to make them compatible with smart LVDS are also reviewed.
