ABSTRACT Background For most of the junior and senior high school students, ‘dental care’ is likely to be difficult to understand. It has been reported that only half of students received treatments among the high school students who were advised to visit dental office for treatment of dental caries and gingivitis. Thus, the oral health education is critical for high school students in order to enhance the understanding of the dental caries and gingivitis. Materials and methods We conducted dental education classes to four junior high schools (62 students) in the Shizuoka prefecture, Japan. After the classes, we asked the students to submit the descriptions of impressions and evaluated those descriptions. Results We found that most of students have had the feeling that the classes were interesting and useful. The junior high school students have begun to become interested in the dental care and that their motivation for study was increased. Conclusion We will continue these classes to junior high school students in the future and would like to contribute to prevalence and enlightenment of dental care. Background: Dental caries in children is a common multifactorial dental health problem. There are some important risk factors in the incidence of dental caries in children. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the incidence of dental caries and the relationship between risk factors and dental caries in 7th grade students in Rembang, Central Java. Method: An observational research design was applied, through the use of a cross-sectional study. The study population was 574, with a total sample of 75 respondents. The research sample was determined using a random sampling method. The locations of this research are SMPN 1 Lasem and SMPN 2 Rembang, Rembang, Central Java. This study was conducted between May and August 2018. Data collection techniques included dental examination for dental caries and a questionnaire to determine the risk factors. Analysis of the study was conducted via a chi-square statistical test. Results: Of the respondents, 46.67% had active caries. There was a relationship between a history of caries and a current caries incidence (p = 0.01) and between the time of toothbrushing and caries incidence in grade 7 junior high school students in Rembang Regency, Central Java (p = 0.01). Conclusion: A previous history of caries and the time of toothbrushing have a relationship with the incidence of dental caries in 7th grade junior high school students in Rembang Regency, Central Java.

ABSTRACT This paper attempts to analyze the test items in the English National Final Examination (UAN) for Junior High School Students in the academic year 2009/2010. This study aims at analyzing the compatibility of the test items of package A in reading and writing section of English National Final Examination for Junior High School Students with the standard of graduate competence and the cognitive domains used in the test. The data were collected by using documentary method, while in analyzing the data the writers focused on matching the compatibility of the test items with the Standard of Graduate Competence and identifying the cognitive domain used. From the analysis, it was found that the test items of package A in reading and writing section of English National Final Examination 2009/2010 were in line with the Standard of Graduate Competence (SKL) arranged by the government. The cognitive domains in reading section mostly used level of comprehension. The cognitive domains in writing section used the application and the synthesis level. ?é?á Key words: analysis, test items, national final examination

In this paper I explore the connection between a/r/tography and poetic inquiry, and how together they cultivate multiple ways of understanding. I further claim that classroom situations are most provocative of thoughtfulness and critical consciousness when each student participates in the classroom conversation from his or her lived situations. While difficult, teachers who can facilitate rich interchanges of dialogue within a plurality of voices are genuinely creating communities of difference and thus imagining real possibilities for social change.
