Abstract Date Presented 04/7/21 A pilot for integrating OT into a Department of Corrections Community Supervision Center was implemented. This pilot sought to use OT assessment and intervention for justice-involved individuals to address skill building, increase problem solving, and further explore the needs and barriers to re-entry, including maintenance of supervision to prevent recidivism. This pilot highlighted a gap in life skills training for this population and this program's impact. Adolescence is considered as a crucial stage for emotional development. It is also seen as a time of hyper-emotionality, emotional conflict, and volatile mood states. Given that adolescents lack skills for emotional management, emotional distress during these years can hamper their immediate growth and adversely affect their transition to the next stage of life. Interventions that promote positive emotional development during adolescence are the need of the hour. Keeping this in focus, the present study investigated the Effect of Life Skills Training on Adolescent boys and girls with high Emotional Distress. The study used pre- and post-test experimental design with a control group to examine the stated objectives. 160 adolescent boys and girls (n=80), with a mean age of 16.44 years, were selected for the study using Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. Of these, 80 in the experimental group (boys=40, girls=40) were trained in life skills. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test and repeated measures of ANOVA were used to analyze obtained results. Major findings of the study indicate that Life Skills training has significant effect in reducing emotional distress and improving emotional health in adolescents. And the significance of it was found to be higher in girls compared to boys.

This paper highlights the impacts of a revised curriculum which incorporated a strong life skills focus into an existing civic education curriculum (for 4-H youth). The revised curriculum resulted in actual youth gains in life skills competencies. The study also explored the effect of volunteer facilitators in the implementation of an added life skills training component. Despite some significant limitations to the internal and external validity of the study, preliminary indications were that adding explicit life skills training content does in fact lead to an increase in life skills competencies. This was clearer in cases where volunteer facilitators fully implemented the additional content versus implementing none or only part of the life skills training. The limitations of the study and suggestions for future research are outlined in the conclusion.

This study endeavored to establish trends in the re-enforcing factor related to the consumption of alcoholic beverages among high school students in Liberia, using an experimental research design. A sample of 440 students from two selected schools was determined using Cochran’s formula. A sixteen item questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.70 was administered to the 440 students to identify those who drink alcohol. Applying G Power formula, 84 students were randomly selected out of the 170 students who drink alcohol as participants. Another validated questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.76 was used to collect data from the field. Descriptive statistics and t-test were used to analyze the data. The study concludes that the use of the Alcohol and Life Skills Training Model, which was employed to the experimental group is an effective educational tool to prepare students to make responsible decision about abstaining from drinking alcoholic beverages than the HIV/ AIDS Model which was employed to the control group. It is therefore recommended that the Government of Liberia should adopt the Alcohol and Life Skills Training Model into the National High School Curriculum in order to prevent and control the consumption of alcohol by students in high schools. Secondly, researchers and the Ministry of Education in conjunction with other Ministries such as Health and Youth should conduct further research on a wider scale on alcohol consumption among the youth, including the in-school and the out of school adolescents in Liberia.

Entrepreneurship is the right choice to improve the life of the economy independently. Whether it's the economy of ourselves personally, even the economy in general in a bigger scope. Cimahi City as one of the cities in Indonesia that has the number of unemployed as many as 2,903 people in 2015. Based on data obtained from the Department of Manpower Cimahi City in 2016, it is known that only about 25.2% alone the amount of unemployment that can be absorbed on the job there is. Based on the conditions in this field, needed an empowerment to overcome the condition. One of the empowerment activities that can be done to overcome this condition through life skills training in the field of bridal makeup organized by Course and Training Institute. But the activity of the alumni of post life skill training training needs to be seen again. Like what the alumni are applying the results of training in entrepreneurship.               This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive method. The subject of this research is alumni of LKP Nuning Kota Cimahi in bridal make up. Data collection techniques in this study using interview techniques, observation, and documentation studies. The results of this study indicate that the life skills training process in bridal makeup field consists of preparation process, implementation process, evaluation process, and mentoring process. It can be said that 75% of LKP Nuning alumni in the field of bridal makeup have successfully entrepreneurship independently.               This bridal makeup training really helps the alumni in improving their economic and social position in the community. After the training, the alumni began to pioneer their business independently. Promoting online and offline, improving existence through professional organization activities, as well as setting aside funds for upgrading on her dressing skills. In addition, they begin to encounter the obstacles in it. In general, the obstacles faced are divided into 4 issues namely, capital constraints, business competition obstacles, barriers to trend changes that are too fast, and hambantan management of business management. However, not all alumni succeeded in becoming bridal cosmetic.
