In present scenario, Indian government has regulated many policies and pro environment action with an aim of being aware about environment under which we continue to live. Although, it is not only government responsibility towards developing pro environment attitude rather it should be emerges from us for our nature. However, people become more sensitive for their livelihood needs than environmental concerns which are remarkable notion. So, the present study attempted to study the pro environment attitude and ecological behavior dynamics with an influence of social desirability.

In this research, researcher studied the relation between stress and superstitious behavior. This study carried out in UP. To assess the level of stress, stress scale of M.Singh (2002) has been used and to assess superstitious behaviour self-constructed scale has been used. Chi square technique has been used for data analysis. The relation between stress level and superstitious behaviour is significant at 0.01 level of confidence. Hence, it has been concluded that high stress lead to high superstitious behaviour.

In the present study, the researchers have attempted to assess the relationship between empathy and perceived stress among college students of Karnataka and West Bengal in India. The data was collected using the Basic Empathy Scale for Adults (BES-A) and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) from a sample of 214 college students, in which 107 were boys and 107 were girls. The study found that there was no significant relationship between their cognitive empathy and perceived stress but a significant relationship between their affective empathy and perceived stress was found and the correlation was found to be positive. The study also found that there was a significant gender difference in empathy among college students and girls had a higher empathy than boys, whereas in case of perceived stress, no significant gender difference was found; although the girls showed higher perceived stress levels than boys but the difference in their perceived stress levels was minimal. The implications of nurturing empathy and reducing perceived stress among the college students are discussed.

Working memory is very crucial as it influences higher cognition. We conducted a study testing auditory simulations effect on working memory while considering personality type. 161 participants college students did the Eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ-R) as a pretest, followed by reading a prose with an auditory simulation based assigned group (pop, classical, white noise and silence). Then they answered multiple-choice questions based on the prose in silence. We found that pop and classical groups did better, although the difference across groups was not significant. Hence auditory simulations have no negative or significant positive effects on working memory, furthermore, unlike previous studies, personality didn’t affect performance. Future studies can consider participants’ preferences and context-dependent memory to better explore this phenomenon.

Since its outbreak in December, 2019, the novel coronavirus has wreaked a havoc across the world. Stringent measures such as lockdown and self-isolation were imposed in various nations to curb the transmission of the life-threatening virus. India had been under a complete lockdown from 25th March, 2020 to 3rd May,2020, compelling its citizens to stay indoors for an unprecedented amount of time. The ‘stay at home orders’ had serious implications on the mental health of the people. In light of the on-going pandemic, the current study aims to understand the lockdown experience of young married adults and its relationship with their psychological well-being. Also, with a spike in the digital habits of young adults during the Covid-19 lockdown, we intended to explore the impact of technology on the psychological well-being of its users. A convenience sample of 140 married, young adults (20 to 40 years old), staying with their partners in different parts of the country, was selected for the study. A single administration of WHO QOL BREF and self-constructed Lockdown Experience Scale was carried out. A separate list of technology usage items was also presented to the participants. Due to lockdown, the questionnaires were administered through Google forms. Results indicate that Lockdown Experience (Quality of Partner Relationship, sharing of household responsibilities, Personal Space) correlated significantly with Psychological Well Being as well as with Technology Use. Implications and suggestions for future research have been given.

There is a widespread belief and allegation that Psychology is a Western product. This paper examines this allegation looking at its philosophical origin, scientific advancement and contemporary development. The Western perspective on Psychology is contrasted against Eastern perspective. The paper reviewed several literatures on the history and advancement of Psychology. It also reviewed the literatures on indigenous and multicultural psychology. The paper concluded that until 20th century Psychology was exclusively Western product. The recent emphasis on the role of culture in human psychology has given the space for Eastern perspective. We can be hopeful that Psychology will be more inclusive, diverse and global in future.

Aim: The objective of the study was to compare the impact of daily 10 min humming practice for one week on heart-brain coherence and attention on college students. Methodology: The evidence indicates that increased heart-brain coherence facilitates better emotional regulation and thereby increases attention. Simple humming practice was identified as a method to increase the heart-brain coherence. Each student was assigned randomly to an experimental group or control group. The experimental group (n= 15) performed 10-minutes humming daily for 7 days and the control group (n=15) was not asked to do anything. 10-minute humming was simplified Bhramari practice with total breath duration of 13 seconds based on short training. SDMT (Symbol Digit Modalities Test) and Heart Brain Coherence (using Emwave Pro Device by HeartMath Inc.) was conducted for both the groups on Day 1 and Day 7. Statistical analysis was conducted using student-t test to understand the results. Results: For the experimental group, there was statistically significant improvement in both “Coherence” and “SDMT” score on Day 7 (compared to Day 1, p<.05). For control group, the change in both parameters was not statistically significant. Conclusions: The results confirm that a short duration humming practice just for one week can increase the heart-brain coherence and Heart Rate Variability and has a significant impact on increasing attention amongst the college students. These findings can be leveraged to facilitate better concentration and potentially increased performance for college students.

The review inspects the empirical literature on the efficacy of computer-assisted cognitive re-training of children with Specific learning disabilities (SLD). SLD children are characterized by an average and above-average IQ but there exist significant deficits in their language processing skills. Cognitive re-training is a training process that serves as remediation for people with underdeveloped cognitive abilities through intensive practice. It utilizes the principle of “brain plasticity” and is an endeavor to strengthen the deficit cognitive abilities of people by practicing various well-defined tasks and exercises. Cognitive re-training can be provided in both ways manualized or computerized. Computer-assisted re-training seems more interesting, innovative, is multisensory and motivating for children. This research review aims to put together the primary research done in the area and tries to evaluate the effectiveness of using such intervention on children with a specific learning disability. In a country like India which has a vast & widespread population reaching out to children with a specific learning disability by using manualized intervention seems a distant reality, together with a handful of trained therapists working in the field. Keeping in view such circumstances there is an urgent need to identify ways which can be used as an intervention for the mass population and in remote areas of the country. In doing so, this review also attempts to lay a base and explore the possibility of utilizing this novel way of providing interventions to children with Specific learning disability.

The present study was aimed to examine the cognitive functions among adolescents with online game addiction behaviour. For the present study 60 adolescents who play online games were been studied living in Delhi-Ncr region following cross-sectional research design. The instruments used encompassed of a demographic data sheet, Game addiction scale, Stroop color word test, Trail making test, Eysenck’s series of digit span test and n-beck test. The obtained data was been analysed by using SPSS to see the relationship between cognitive functions and game addiction with Pearson-r, frequency distribution and correlation. The findings indicated that gamers who remained preoccupied with playing had difficulty in color naming and indicates withdrawal feature that interfere in their retrieval. And also indicates that online gamers who experienced conflict due to online gaming had significantly deficit in attention and concentration.
