Although personality has been widely studied within the academic literature, there has been little research into the relationship between personality and leadership development programs, particularly within an agricultural context for adult learners. The purpose of this research was to investigate the nature of relationships among ten aspects of the Big Five personality factors and demographic characteristics including: gender, age, organizational level, educational attainment, and geographic region within a sample of adult agricultural leadership development program participants. Results of the study indicate that there are differences between demographic groups relative to specific aspects of personality. Among the ten aspects analyzed, the most statistically significant differences between groups were observed between age groups, while the fewest statistically significant differences were observed in the educational attainment and geographic region groups. Effect sizes were also calculated with gender having the largest observed effect sizes and age having the largest number of statistically significant effect sizes.

This research is conducted to quantify the influence of training motivation on the relationship between leadership development program and training transfer using 412 usable questionnaires gathered from the Malaysian Army personnel. A structural equation modelling generated by the SmartPLS version 3.2.5 was employed to assess the validity and reliability of the instrument and then test the research hypotheses. The outcomes of path model analysis showed two important findings: firstly, the relationship between training motivation and course content significantly correlates with training transfer and secondly, the relationship between training motivation and instructors’ roles is significantly correlated with training transfer. Statistically, the outcomes of hypotheses testing confirmed that training motivation acts as an important mediating variable in the relationship between leadership development program and training transfer in organisational samples.

This study aims to explore the factors of the implementation of Midterm-term Change Project proposed by alumni of Leadership Development Program (Diklatpim) Level held in 2017 in the Riau Province. Data was collected using interview technique and review of related documents. The informants included three parties namely the alumni as the owner of the change project, the alumni superior as the mentor and organizer of the Training. The results showed, from the perspective of implementation, there were internal factors (low willingness, seriousness and motivation, as well as alumni communication with limited work teams) and external (unavailability of IT staff, lack of support for infrastructure and budget facilities, inequality of perception between participants and stakeholders to supporting data, as well as the lack of direct attention of superiors as mentors) which is the cause of the suboptimal implementation of medium-term change projects. This research contributes to efforts to improve the implementation of medium- term change projects through an understanding of the factors that cause the low level of implementation of the project term change in 2017 Riau Province Diklatpim IV alumni. Keywords: leadership development, change project, training evaluation, Riau.
