Higher failure rates of construction business have been observed as a recurring phenomenon in the construction industry. This research focuses on the causes behind a range of performance modes of construction business. The growth and capacity under-investment archetype has been used as the main systems archetype to develop a causal structure for understanding the business performance. A system dynamics model was developed to create a simulation platform for the causal structure. A context of a typical small and medium construction company has been used in the simulation model. This research considered and experimented with a set of selected managerial policies and practices that can lead the construction business to failure, sustenance, or growth. In order to achieve the expected growth or sustenance, it is found that a certain level of balance needs to be secured on how much emphasis is to be given to win new projects, how much profit margins to work with, and how much capacities to be arranged and deployed for project operations, management, and execution.

The government investment in the construction project general always use of the design budgetary estimate as the construction-agent charge fees foundation, and with reference to the owners management cost rate to calculate the construction-agent charge. By analyzing the composition of the construction-agent charge and the difference between the owners management cost and the construction-agent charge, studying of the composition and rates of construction-agent charge in various key cities nationwide in detail, pointing out the fact that the current generation of construction-agent charge rates are too low, and then established a system dynamics model and analyzed the relationship between a reasonable profit margins and project success rate dynamically. Pointed out the necessity of a reasonable profit margin, and make same recommendations accordingly.

To lower the power consumption of elevator ,a Continuously Variable Transmission(CVT) is installed between traction mechanism and counterweight and optimize the mass of elevator counterweight .Adjust gear ratio by CVT,control the elevator counterweight lifting distance to adjust counterweight potential changes, the counterweight potential energy change reasonably compensate the elevator car potential changes, thereby obtaining satisfactory energy-saving effect.Use MATLAB/SIMULINK to establish the elevator traction system dynamics model to finish the power consumption analysis of elevator.
