Odometers In Motor Vehicles Record And Display Distance Traveled. In Addition To Informing A Driver Of Trip Distance, This Measurement Is Used To Calculate Service Intervals, Lease Payments, Resale Value, Fuel Economy, And Warranty Limits. Distance Is Calculated From A Digital Accumulation Of Wheel Rotations And Knowledge Of The Tire Circumference. The Tire Circumference May Vary With Speed, Load, Pressure, Tread-Wear And Brand. This Investigation Compares Indicated Odometer Measurements With Simultaneous Measurements Using A Global Positioning System (Gps) Device On A Range Of Vehicle Models. While Some Models Have Odometer Systems With Reasonably Accurate Calibrations, Others Systematically Over-Register Odometer Distance. In The Opinion Of This Investigator, The Mis-Calibration Is Sometimes Intentional And Done For The Economic Benefit Of The Manufacturer.

Nowadays, the development of the automotive industry in Indonesia is increasing followed by high number of motor vehicle theft. In order to reduce the motor vehicle theft case, a Global Positioning System (GPS) based instrument in motor vehicle is investigated to monitor the location of vehicles. This instrument will be run if there are a phone signal from provider and GPS signal from satellite. The method is that the owner sends a text to the destination number installed in the instrument. There are some codes needed to be paired to the instrument. If the code is matched, instrument will reply the text automatically based on the program installed in the instrument. This instrument has many advantages, such as could give the location accurately with an error less than 5 meters, could turn off the vehicle, could give an information if the vehicle is stolen, and also could record the conversations while the vehicles are in use. This instrument is also improved by installing the local language (Indonesian) and features which meet the owner requirements. Generally, it could be concluded that this instrument really helps the rider or owner from motor vehicle theft. Good response and accurate location given by the instrument verified by the finding of lost vehicle showed that this instrument could be applied and important if it is applied in the motor vehicles.

The developments of technology have penetrated into various fields including motorcycle safety. The manufacturer’s standard of locking system is not enough to protect the motor vehicles from theft. Therefore, it requires a combination between software and hardware in creating additional security systems. The purpose of this study is to design a motorcycle safety device by using IoT-based GPS. The system is designed in order to control the motorcycle automatically turn the engine off, sound the horn, and detect the location of motorcycle by smartphone with Blynk application when the robbery happened. Optocoupler sensor is a tool that uses to send a notification to Blynk application when the motorcycle is stolen. It uses the Neo6mv2 GPS sensor as a coordinate sensor, NodeMCU V3 Microcontroller as a data processor and communication with a WiFi modem, Bolt brand WiFI modem as a link to the internet network and Relay as a button that is controlled by the Blynk application to turn on or turn off the engine, horn and turn signal. All of the components require a supply 5V voltage that generated by the motor ACCU 12V which is reduced to 5V by LM2596 module.

This paper examines the distribution of hospitality services in Uyo Urban, Nigeria. GIS method was the primary tool used for data collection. A global positioning system (GPS) Garmin 60 model was used in tracking the location of 102 hospitality services in the study area. One hypothesis was stated and tested using the nearest neighbour analysis. The finding shows evidence of clustering of the various hospitality services. The tested hypothesis further indicated that hospitality services clustered in areas that guarantee a sustainable level of patronage to maximize profit. Thus, the hospitality services clustered in selected streets in the metropolis while limited numbers were found outside the city’s central area.
