Crime is all kinds of actions and actions that are economically and psychologically harmful that violate the laws in force in the State of Indonesia as well as social and religious norms. Ordinary criminal acts affect the security of the community and threaten their inner and outer peace. The research location is the Mentawai Islands Police, which is an agency that can provide security and protection for the community, especially those in the Mentawai Islands Regency. The problem is that it is difficult for the Mentawai Islands Police to classify areas that are prone to crime in the most vulnerable, moderately vulnerable and not vulnerable categories. Especially considering the condition of the Mentawai, there are four large islands consisting of 10 sub-districts, where crime is increasing every year, especially those in the Mentawai Islands Regency area such as motor vehicle theft. Based on the background of the problem above, the researcher is interested in taking research in creating a system to predict the crime rate in the Mentawai Islands Regency in order to anticipate the surge in crime that will come. The method used is the K-Means Clustering Algorithm as a non-hierarchical data clustering method to partition existing data into one or more clusters or groups. This method partitions data into clusters so that data with the same characteristics are grouped into the same cluster and data with different characteristics are grouped into other clusters. Clustering is one of the data mining techniques used to get groups of objects that have common characteristics in large enough data. The data used is data on cases of criminal theft of motor vehicles for the last 5 years from 2016 to 2020. The results of the test show that South Sipora District is an area prone to the crime of motor vehicle theft.

The research objective is to analyze the rule of law in the application of diversion to children; the factors causing the criminal act of theft of motorized vehicles by children and the diversion policy against child suspects in the crime of theft of motorized vehicles at the Sibolga Resort Police. The research method used is descriptive method, while the data analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative. The results of the study indicate that the rule of law in the application of diversion to children who commit criminal acts is regulated in Law No. 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System, namely in articles 6 – 15 and Law no. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, namely article 1 number (2). Factors causing the theft are internal factors, namely economic factors where children come from families of weak economic groups, lack of parental supervision because they are busy at work, lack of legal awareness by children because they are still not mature in thinking, narcotics needs because they are wrong in the association of friends, external factors are the opportunity to commit theft, the influence of the environment where children are connected to criminal groups or motorcycle gangs, the influence of adults who try to take advantage of children to commit theft of motorized vehicles, and the number of collectors of stolen motorized vehicles. The diversion policy against child suspects in the crime of motor vehicle theft at the Sibolga Resort Police is carried out by means of formal and non-formal policies.

Security is always an issue both in individuals and communal attentions. Any forms of threats and crimes that occur in the village area of Karyawangi Parongpong, such as motor vehicle theft, violence, drug abuse, gambling, and others are caused by a lack of supervision from local authorities. The limitation of surveillance distance is one of the problems. Thus, an effective and appropriate security system in a place is indispensable. In this paper, the design of the security system using IoT modules and ESP32 Camera, will be elaborated for karyawangi Parongpong's village. The system secures a village environment by detecting an intruder on the road, triggering Passive Infra Red (PIR) sensor, capturing all activities with ESP32 camera, and then sending data to a smart mobile phone through with Telegram application. These service activities were aimed at the improvement of security systems and increase knowledge of technology advances for rural communities in the Karyawangi Village environment, especially in security systems based on IoT.

Cases in vehicle catching often occur given the increasing number of vehicle production increases. Someone commits the crime of motor vehicle theft because they want to own it, but the economy does not allow it to buy legally. One of the efforts to realize this is through restructuring because the price is much cheaper than the official price. The purpose of this research is to reveal the judges' considerations in the decision of car arresting cases and the criminal sanctions for car arresting offenders. The research method used is a normative research method with a conceptual approach and a case approach. The sources of legal materials used are primary and secondary sources of law. The technique of collecting legal materials is done by recording, quoting, reading, and summarizing the literature that refers to the judge's consideration in the decision of the car arresting case. After the legal materials are collected, they are analyzed systematically. The results of the study reveal that Article 480 of the Criminal Code is used as a criminal sanction for detention if the defendant is found guilty.

Previous research has found that sports games increase certain crimes including theft and vandalism, but the relationship between sports and other offenses such as motor vehicle theft, robbery, and assaults is mixed. Using regular season National Hockey League (NHL) game data and city-level, incident-level crime data from four large U.S. cities, this paper estimates if professional ice hockey games played at home is associated with increases in property crimes, alcohol-related crimes, and assaults during and right after games the over course of four NHL seasons. Results show that NHL games lead to small but significant increases in property crimes and assaults. There is no significant effect for alcohol-related crimes. Implications and suggestions for future work are discussed.

Motor vehicle theft cases still often occur around us, this happens because there is still a lack of security systems in motorized vehicles that only use ignition keys and key covers, where weaknesses in standard security systems like this have been understood by motor vehicle theft perpetrators. to do the action. To overcome this, a motorized vehicle security system was created using the IOT-based GPS tracking method to prevent and make it easier to retrieve a stolen motorized vehicle. So far, most motorcycle safety devices are still physically secure, for example a solution commonly used by motorized vehicle owners by adding safety locks to discs, chaining and so on, but owners often forget to install locks, or vehicle alarms. The result of this research is the production of a controller design tool, motorcycle safety and GPS tracking to provide information on the last location of motorized vehicles and can control remotely based on iot. which has been experienced by motorized vehicle users.

The New South Wales (NSW) Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002 gave the NSW Police the power in certain circumstances the power to stop, search and detain a person without warrant. The same legislation gave the police the power to direct a person to move on from a place if they believe on reasonable grounds that the person in question is obstructing traffic or another person; engaging in behaviour that is considered harassment or intimidation to another person (or people); behaving in a way that is causing or likely to cause fear to a reasonable person or present in the place in order to unlawfully supply or cause another person to unlawfully supply drugs. The exercise of these powers has attracted considerable controversy, but little is known about their effectiveness in controlling crime. We investigate the relationship between police activity and crime using panel data of 17 Local Area Command for the period 2001 to 2013. We find a significant and strongly negative long-run relationship between both indices of police activity and each of break and enter, motor vehicle theft and robbery. No significant long-run relationship is found between assault and move-on directions. The person search activity is negatively related to assault, but the effect is weak; with a 10% increase in person search only resulting in a 0.5% fall in assaults. The implications for the exercise of police move-on and search powers are discussed.
