An Android Based Flight Simulator using VR Technology

For training young pilots. Flight simulators enhance the safety measures, as the risk factor of severe injuries are eliminated since the training is now synthetic. However, flight simulators also require large space, large budget and does have many high end requirements, which are to be met in order to make the simulator respond and perform identical to that of a real aircraft. Flight simulators does have their hardware constraints and because of these limitations, the simulators are not of generic nature that supports different sort of aircrafts. In this paper, the simulator environment is deployed in virtual reality to simulate the similar controls on a stereoscopic environment. Deployment of the simulator is such, that experience of flying an aircraft from cockpit will give a sensational view to the user. Virtual reality is used in learning purpose, as normal person can experience what it will be like, to fly an aircraft

Fatigue, often defined as a physiological state of reduced mental or physical performance capability resulting from sleep loss, circadian phase, or workload (physical or cognitive), has been implicated as a critical risk factor resulting in severe injuries and accidents. A great deal of research has been done into the identification, measurement, and management of fatigue, however it is still poorly understood. This may be due to the characteristics and variability of work conditions across different industries; for example, fatigue in manufacturing is largely related to physical demands, and in aviation fatigue is related to sleep and shift-work. This panel will comprise of academics and practitioners across manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, aviation, and oil and gas industries. Topics covered within each industry will include fatigue causes and consequences, existing fatigue monitoring/management practices, barriers to fatigue monitoring and management, and recommendations/discussions around improving the current state.

Abstract In the paper implementation of a ground control station for UAV flight simulator is shown. The ground control station software is in cooperation with flight simulator, displaying various aircraft flight parameters. The software is programmed in C++ language and utilizes the windows forms for implementing graphical content. One of the main aims of the design of the application was to simplify the interface, simultaneously maintaining the functionality and the eligibility. A mission can be planned and monitored using the implemented map control supported by waypoint list.

Multi-projector display systems are widely used in virtual reality, flight simulators, and other entertainment systems. Geometric distortion and color inconsistency are two key problems to be solved. In this paper a geometric correction principle is theoretically demonstrated and a consistency principle of geometric correction is first proposed. A new method of automatic registration of a multi-projector on a curved screen is put forward. Two pairs of binocular-cameras are used to reconstruct the curved screen. To capture feature points of the curved screen precisely, a group of red-blue coded structured light images is designed to be projected onto the screen. Geometric homography between each projector and the curved screen is calculated to gain a pre-warp template. Work which can gain a seamless display is illustrated by a six-projector system on the curved screen.

SUMMARYDespite a number of risk-factor studies in different countries, the epidemiology ofCampylobactercolonization in broilers, particularly spatial dependencies, is still not well understood. A series of analyses (visualization and exploratory) were therefore conducted in order to obtain a better understanding of the spatial and temporal distribution ofCampylobacterin the Danish broiler population. In this study, we observed a non-random temporal occurrence ofCampylobacter, with high prevalence during summer and low during winter. Significant spatio-temporal clusters were identified in the same areas in the summer months from 2007 to 2009. Range of influence between broiler farms were estimated at distances of 9·6 km and 13·5 km in different years. Identification of areas and time with greater risk indicates variable presence of risk factors with space and time. Implementation of safety measures on farms within high-risk clusters during summer could have an impact in reducing prevalence.
