The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of knowledge sharing (KS) and two specific types of innovation on competitive advantage in Vietnamese firms. Based on using structural equation modeling (SEM) and survey data collected from 225 participants, the findings reveal that KS directly and indirectly affects firm’s competitive advantage through the mediating role of innovation speed and innovation quality. The findings stress the important role of building a positive climate to stimulate employees for sharing knowledge aimed at improving firm’s innovation capability, and sustaining competitive advantage. Future research needs to explore the relationship between three components of knowledge management namely knowledge acquisition, KS, and knowledge application, innovation, and specific aspects of competitive advantage (such as low cost advantage, differentiation advantage, and time advantage) to provide deeper the mechanism of how specifics aspects of knowledge management connected with firm’s certain types of competitive advantage through innovation.

Knowledge sharing is vital for any organization, and it has an essential impact on developing ‎‎skills, increasing value, and maintaining a competitive advantage in the organization. In the knowledge management (KM) literature, ‎‎perceived organizational support and organizational trust have been pointed out as ‎‎primary factors for knowledge sharing. The present study investigated the role of ‎‎perceived organizational support in promoting nurses’ knowledge sharing, considering ‎‎organizational trust as a mediator‎. The cross-sectional study design was applied to examine the ‏hypothesized relationships.‏ ‎Data were ‎‎collected using three questionnaires from three hundred thirty ‎‎nurses working in five public hospitals in Shiraz city. The Partial Least Squares Structural ‎‎Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach was used to analyze data. The results revealed a significant and positive association between perceived organizational support, organizational trust, and knowledge sharing. The findings also demonstrated that organizational trust plays a mediating role between perceived organizational support and knowledge sharing.

Along with emerging the war for talent, scholars have given ample attention to employer branding concept referring the a whole of values and benefits that organizations provide for both attracting and retaining the best possible talent. In this context, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of employer branding on the favorable employee behavior as job embeddedness via the mediating role of the dedication and perceived organizational support.  Data collected from 200 respondents have been analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling. As a result of analyses, the hypothesized model was supported. Findings of the study revealed that employer branding has effect the dedication, job embeddedness and organizational support perception of employees. Additionally, dedication and perceived organizational support partially mediate the relationship between employer branding and job embeddedness. Finally, the theoretical and practical implication, limitations of the study and suggestions for future research are discussed.

PurposeWorkplace flourishing and withdrawal behavior are important concepts for human resource practitioners in today’s multicultural and multilingual work atmosphere. Despite the prevalence of linguistic ostracism, only a handful of studies have considered its impact on workplace flourishing and withdrawal behavior. This paper embarks on unveiling the nature of these associations.Design/methodology/approachA sample of n = 395 employee responses was obtained from Jordanian tourism and hospitality organizations. The data were analyzed with the variance-based structural equation modeling (VB-SEM) technique using ADANCO software.FindingsVB-SEM results indicate that linguistic ostracism reduces workplace flourishing and indirectly increases withdrawal behavior through the mediating role of workplace flourishing. Decreased feelings of workplace flourishing resulted in increased withdrawal behavior.Originality/valueThis paper is among the first to empirically examine the association between linguistic ostracism, workplace flourishing and withdrawal behavior and the mediating role of workplace flourishing using ethnolinguistic identity and stressor–emotion theories as a theoretical framework. Implications for practice and theory are discussed alongside future research directions.

The present study examined corporate entrepreneurship (CE) influence upon business performance following the mediation of employee engagement. In all, 201 middle managers from big 5 banks in Pakistan were sampled for the present study. Through applying structural equation modeling to test statistical relationship, the results revealed significant positive relationship between CE and business performance. Accordingly, the results also indicated mediation of employee engagement in this relationship thus, supporting both the hypothesized relationships. The study is first of its kind, addressing critical gap concerning employee engagement in the domain of CE and business performance. The study presents critical explanations and potential implications through which CE prospects could help employees to feel obliged to respond back with higher engagement and business performance. Toward the end, the chapter also discusses future research directions and scope for further study.

Purpose Only 13 percent of the world’s employees are engaged in their work, which has become a challenge for the managers of today. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the mediating role of employee engagement between perceived learning environment and extra-role behaviors. Design/methodology/approach This quantitative study collected data from 563 employees using a questionnaire-based survey on a convenience basis. Findings The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results of the study show that employees’ perception of learning environment urges them to perform beyond their formal job descriptions (i.e. extra-role behaviors) regarding proactivity, knowledge sharing and creativity. In addition, employee engagement performs the mediating role between learning environment and extra-role behaviors. Research limitations/implications The data for this study were collected at a single point of time (cross-sectional), which limits the inferences about the causality. Originality/value This study is perhaps the first attempt to empirically investigate the mediating role of employee engagement between the relationship of the learning environment and extra-role behaviors such as knowledge sharing, proactivity and creativity.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of cooperative and competitive personalities on tacit knowledge sharing (TKS) by exploring the mediating role of organizational identification (OI) and the moderating role of perceived organizational support (POS) among Chinese employees. Design/methodology/approach Conducting a network survey of ordinary employees from Chinese listed companies (2019) as the research objects, the authors collect 298 valid samples for research. The authors apply confirmatory factor analysis to test the reliability and validity of the constructs, structural equation modeling to verify the direct effect and the PROCESS macro to test the mediating and moderating effects. Findings The results show that there is a positive relationship between cooperative personality (COP) and TKS, and there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between competitive personality (CMP) and TKS. OI plays a mediating role between COP and TKS, while POS plays a negative moderating role between COP and TKS. Research limitations/implications This paper only takes Chinese employees as the research sample, and future research can make a cross-cultural comparison between the impacts of cooperative and competitive personalities on employees’ behaviors. Practical implications The results of this study suggest that enterprises should actively cultivate the COP of employees, and managers should refrain from intervening in the behaviors of employees with COP. At the same time, for employees with CMP, managers should guide them to control their competitive tendency at a reasonable level. The conclusions of this paper also suggest that managers should pay attention to the cultivation of employees’ OI. Originality/value This study plugs the gap in research on the impacts of cooperative and competitive personalities on TKS. It makes a contribution to the research development of COP and CMP and their influence mechanisms on employees’ behaviors. In addition, the negative moderating effect of POS on COP–TKS link verifies the correctness of Y theory. Studying the relationships among personality traits (cooperative and competitive personalities), cognition (OI) and behaviors (TKS), this paper makes a contribution to such a research stream.

We examined the effects of narcissistic leadership on employees' knowledge sharing by analyzing the mediating role of organizational identification and the moderating role of collectivism. Using structural equation modeling and hierarchical regression we analyzed 228 sets of paired data obtained from employees and their immediate supervisors at organizations in China. We found that narcissistic leadership had a negative effect on knowledge sharing among our respondents, and that organizational identification fully mediated the relationship between narcissistic leadership and knowledge sharing. Moreover, collectivism positively moderated the relationship between narcissistic leadership and knowledge sharing. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

This study aims to analyze the mediating role of affective commitment on the effect of perceived organizational support and procedural justice on job performance. Respondents in this study are Civil Servants at the BPS Statistics of the Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The sample used was 188 selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with Analysis Moment of Structural (AMOS) 24.0 software. This study found that perceived organizational support and procedural justice has no significant direct effect on job performance. This research also shows that perceived organizational support and procedural justice have a significant effect on affective commitment, and there is a significant effect between affective commitment on job performance. The finding of this research show that affective commitment was able to mediate perceived organizational support and procedural justice on job performance. Recommendation for leaders, employees, and future research are discussed.

This study examined the influential role of knowledge creation in facilitating the effect of market-sensing on innovation. It specifically examines this phenomenon among small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. The study hypothesized that market sensing will exogenously have a significant and positive effect on knowledge creation, which will in turn have a positive effect on innovation. Data was collected from strategic managers from the top management teams of 310 small and medium scale enterprises randomly selected from the country’s six geopolitical zones. Using covariance based structural equation modeling (SEM) carried out via version 23 of IBM’s AMOS software. Findings confirmed all four hypotheses specifically demonstrating that market sensing positively impacted knowledge creation and innovation, while knowledge creation was both found to have a positive effect on innovation and to also significantly mediate the effect of market-sensing on innovation. The study then discusses the implication of the findings for both literature and practice, while recommending areas for future research.

This research paper aims to investigate how the ambient conditions in fitness centers affect customer behavioral intentions through examining the mediating role of customer emotional states while in the fitness center.  To this end, a conceptual model of relevant research variables was developed based on the extant literature. A questionnaire survey was administered to a convenient sample of 420 fitness center members approached in 10 randomly selected fitness centers in Jordan. The model was validated and tested using structural equation modeling with AMOS 21.0. The findings of analysis demonstrated that fitness center ambience was significant in predicting customers’ pleasure, thereby, their behavioral intentions towards the fitness center. Mediation analysis verified the mediating role of customer pleasure but not arousal on the relationship between fitness center ambient conditions and customer behavioral intentions.  Research findings show the significance of ambient conditions as an influential marketing tool. Also, such findings are deemed insightful to the operators of fitness centers on how the fitness center ambience can be deployed to enrich customer affective experience and to encourage positive behavioral intentions in turn. Discussion, conclusions, and research agenda for future research were also identified.
