The paper considers models of monolithic flat floor slabs with five spans in both directions. The cell sizes are 6×6m, 6×9m, and 6×12m. The calculation method is based on the application of temperature load and rope modeling of rod elements. It is shown that post-stressing should be used for slab side lengths over 7 m, as the installation of pre-stressed reinforcement for shorter lengths is less feasible and causes high economic costs.

In the international and national practice of design, a different type of slab on the various types of grade are becoming increasingly common. For such structural elements, shrinkage and temperature influences in combination with low tensile stress, mainly in early age, leads to the risk of cracking in reinforced concrete structures, and as result, a reduction of its durability. The present article describes some of the possible ways of usage of the post-tensioned flat slabs and the rational design procedures to provide their structural reliability. The theoretical background of the punching resistance checking, in the case when the piles support the foundation post-tensioned slabs, presented. For ground floor slabs, an iterative method is given for determining design compression pre-stresses distribution in slab sections, taking into account the restrained effect created by the friction shear stresses in contact between the slab and the base. Besides, the article presents some practical implementations of the post-tensioned slabs as an artificial base in the presence of weak soils and as a large-size ground floor (slab-on-grade) without any joints.

Planning of charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) is the foundation of EV’s promotion and development. A novel multi-objective optimization model is proposed in this paper to better locate and size the charging stations for EVs from given alternative sites. Economic costs of charging station and the time wasted in waiting for charging are minimized in the model. The capacity constraints of the charging stations are included as main constraints. Pareto front is used to compare and estimate the practical value of the current substation locating and sizing plans. A calculation method based on rasterization and Voronoi diagram is proposed to make it clear where the jurisdiction of each charging station ends. Finally, the proposed model and calculation method are verified using case study.

In this paper there are results of a punching shear test of slab samples, which were modeling post-tensioned reinforced concrete floor slabs when they are punched by columns. Geometrical dimensions of slab samples and properties of used materials are listed as well. There were 4 series of samples which differed to each other by level of prestress. Load have been applied through stamps of several types, which have allowed to research different positions of tensioned reinforcement relatively to the punching pyramid. Obtained results are discussed. Recommendations, which compliance may allow to obtain positive effect in ultimate punching shear loads for unbonded post-tensioned slabs are given.

A new Steel deck-concrete composite floor slabs was proposed that with the effect of het preservation and insulation, and the flexure performance of the slabs has been studied. Calculation method of flexural bearing capacity was put forward. Based on comparative and analysis experimental results, it has been verified that the applicability of new formula of flexural bearing capacity of the new slabs.
