In the process of heat exchange with the external environment, the internal temperature of ballastless track structure presents a nonlinear distribution. The vertical temperature gradient will cause repeated warping and deformation of track slab, resulting in mortar layer separation, which will affect driving comfort and track durability. The traditional temperature field analysis method of concrete structure based on thermodynamics has the disadvantages of too many assumptions, difficult parameter selection and too much calculation of energy consumption. In this paper, based on the finite element software ANSYS, the heat exchange was transformed into the boundary condition of heat flux, which was applied to the thermodynamic analysis model to study the nonlinear temperature distribution law of ballastless track. The accuracy of the analysis method was verified by the measured data. On this basis, the regional distribution law of temperature gradient of ballastless track under different geographical coordinates and climatic conditions was studied. By adding a regional adjustment coefficient, the vertical temperature load model of ballastless track suitable for typical areas in China was proposed. The proposed temperature load model makes up for the lack of refinement of climate division and temperature load model in relevant specifications, and has strong engineering application and popularization value.

The durability of concrete structure members is dependent on several factors that should be analyzed at each stage of the construction process. Omitting any of these factors might lead to the augmentation of harmful interactions and, as an effect, to safety hazards and the degradation of a structure or its parts. The article, based on several years of studies on exploited concrete structures, presents the effects of an incorrect analysis of selected factors resulting in the occurrence of faults significantly influencing the possibility of safe use of the objects. The described cases include, but are not limited to, the consequences of an improper assessment of building conditions after a biogas explosion in a fermentation chamber, the effect of a wood dust explosion, fire temperature and firefighting action on the prestressed girders, the stages of degradation of bearing structures supporting gas tanks exploited in an aggressive environment, and the consequences of omitting the temperature load in relation to the upper surface of a plate covering the fire pond. In each case, methods of restoration of the damaged elements were proposed, and their application to engineering practice was described. The practical aspects of the conducted research and implemented interventions were indicated.

The paper considers models of monolithic flat floor slabs with five spans in both directions. The cell sizes are 6×6m, 6×9m, and 6×12m. The calculation method is based on the application of temperature load and rope modeling of rod elements. It is shown that post-stressing should be used for slab side lengths over 7 m, as the installation of pre-stressed reinforcement for shorter lengths is less feasible and causes high economic costs.

А new closed-loop solution for the coupled nonstationary problem of thermoelectric elasticity is designed for a long piezoceramic radially polarized cylinder. The case of the nonstationary load acting on its inner cylindrical surface is considered as a function of temperature change at a given law of the convection heat exchange on the outer face wall (boundary conditions of heat conductivity of the 1st and 3rd types). Electrodynamic cylinder surfaces are connected to a measuring device with a high input resistance (electric idling). We investigate the problem where the rate of the temperature load changes does not affect the inertial characteristics of the elastic system. It makes it possible to expand the initial linear computational relations with the equilibrium, electrostatics and heat conductivity equations with respect to the radial component of the displacement vector, electric potential as well as the function of temperature field changes. Hyperbolic LS-theory of the thermal conductivity is used in the computations. The problem is solved with a generalized method of biorthogonal finite integral transformation based on a multicomponent ratio of eigen functions of two homogeneous boundary value problems. The structural algorithm of this approach allows identifying a conjugated operator, without which it is impossible to solve non-self-conjugated linear problems in mathematical physics. The resulted computational relations make it possible to determine the stress-strain state, temperature and electric fields induced in the piezoceramic element under an arbitrary external temperature effect. By connecting the electroelastic system to the measuring tool, we can find voltage. Firstly, the analysis of the numerical results allows identifying the rate of the temperature load changes, at which it is necessary to use the hyperbolic theory of thermal conductivity. Secondly, it allows determining the physical characteristics of the piezoceramic material for the case when the rate of changing the body volume leads to a redistribution of the temperature field. The developed computational algorithm can be used to design non-resonant piezoelectric temperature sensors.

Abstract The stress and deformation of the specimen under static load and temperature load coupling are deduced by simulation. With the help of finite element software ABAQUS, the user subroutines DFLUX and FILM are called to introduce the temperature field, so as to realize the analysis and Research on the stress, displacement, PEEQ, arrangement and load slip curve of the stud under different action conditions. The results show that based on the existence of temperature stress, the service performance of studs under coupling action is significantly lower than that under static action alone, and the proportion of shear performance of studs in different rows is different. Through the research and analysis of the above phenomena, it can provide reference value for the research of temperature on the performance of studs in composite bridge deck and prolong the service life of bridge deck.

Abstract Steam cooler is one of the most important mechanical equipment in thermal power generation system and nuclear power generation system. The steam cooler bears a huge temperature gradient load when the working conditions are switched. In order to analyze the thermal stress of steam cooler tube sheet with high temperature load under harsh working conditions, the thermal-structural coupling analysis model of steam cooler tube sheet is constructed with finite element method. The results show that the stress concentration exists at the position connection between heat exchanger tube and cylinder. The maximum stress is located at the outermost heat exchanger tube with the peak stress of 320MPa. The heat exchanger tube layout alone cause higher stress. This situation should be avoided in the design of heat exchanger tube sheet. Furthermore, the strength and safety of the steam cooler tube sheet are evaluated with the stress linearization method. The steam cooler tube sheet design meets the safety requirements of structural strength under high temperature load.
