Introduction: The pattern of meniscus tear has significant impact onsubsequent rehabilitation and functional outcome as theyare usually associated with ACL injury.Knowledge about associated meniscus tear helps to identifypatients in the early post-traumatic phase.  Objectives: To study meniscus tear patterns and associationbetween different tear patterns of meniscus in ACLinjured subjects and to identify potential demographic andother associated risk factors.  Methodology: Routine arthroscopic findings database of 54 patientsoperated for primary ACL reconstruction from January 2017to December 2018 was used to study associated tear of meniscus. Based on arthroscopic evaluation, cases weregrouped into meniscus having no tear, minor tear and majortear. Major tear included complete radial tears, root tearsand unstable longitudinal tears including bucket-handletears.  Result: Totalarthroscopycasesinthestudydurationwere124.Ofthose,43% (n=54) underwent ACL reconstruction (ACLR) for tornACL. Among the patients who underwent ACLR, 58% had notear, 26%hadminortears, and16%hadmajortears ofthemeniscus. Therewere significant differencesbetweenthree groups for gender, age groupsandmechanism of injury. Risk factors formajortearsweremalegenderandage<30years.Minorandmajortears were associated with a contact injury.  Conclusion: Male, age <30 years and history of contact injury havehigh risks for having an associated meniscus tear. Earlyreferral to magnetic resonance imaging and/or arthroscopyis recommended to allow meniscus repair in a timelymanner.

Purpose: Athletes often receive conservative treatment for injured anterior cruciate ligaments (ACLs) so that they can continue to play to the end of their season. The purpose of this study was to examine the conscious performance and arthroscopic findings of athletes who received conservative therapy for ACL injuries. Methods: Forty-two patients with ACL injuries underwent conservative treatment. After the season ended, ACL reconstruction was performed. We examined the following parameters: (1) time required for return to competition after injury, (2) conscious performance after return to competition, (3) whether the injured knee gave way during conservative therapy or after return to competition, and (4) cause of performance deterioration if applicable. To determine conscious performance, patients were asked to rate their performance after therapy relative to their performance before injury. Results: Thirty-eight of the 42 patients (90.5%) returned to competition after conservative treatment. The mean time to return was 13.8 ± 7.6 weeks, and the mean conscious performance score was 58.4 ± 16.5%. Thirty-eight patients (90.5%) experienced their knee giving way, of whom 36 (94.9%) stated that fear of their knee giving way hampered their performance. At the time of ACL reconstruction, 9 patients had chondral injuries and 22 patients had meniscus injuries. Conclusion: Most athletes with damaged ACLs returned to the field within the same season after conservative treatment. However, conscious performance was only about 60%. It is possible that knees giving way caused secondary meniscus and joint cartilage damage. Therefore, conservative treatment of individuals with ACL injuries should be considered carefully.

Clinical, arthrographic, and arthroscopic findings in 53 patients with acutely torn anterior cruciate ligaments (ACLs) were documented. Arthroscopy and instability tests under anesthesia were performed on all patients within 2 weeks after the initial injury. Twenty-three patients complained of extension blocks, and localized tenderness on the medial side was revealed in 26 patients at the initial examination. Aspiration from joints exhibited hemarthrosis in 52 patients. Arthroscopy revealed ACL ruptures in all patients. Four Segond's fractures, 26 meniscus tears (8 medial and 18 lateral), 1 osteochondral fracture, and 19 medial collateral ligament ruptures were revealed. Arthroscopy detected only 1 of the 5 ruptures of the posteromedial corner of the medial meniscus, which were noted on arthrography. Three ACL stumps were protruding among the femorotibial joint, which seemed to be restricting full extension. Statistical analysis showed that tenderness on the medial side was not revealed more frequently in knees with medial collateral ligament injuries than in the others. The volume of aspirated fluids in knees with no leakage in arthrography significantly increased over those with leakages (p < 0.05). Diagnosis of ACL injuries should be completed by clinical, arthrographic, and arthroscopic examinations.

Subject. The article considers ratings of banks' reliability. Objectives. The aim is to evaluate the accuracy of existing methodology for bank reliability assessment based on official reporting, to identify patterns between indicators and factors that can affect the financial sustainability of a bank. Methods. The study draws on the comparative analysis of key indicators of bank's financial statements one year prior to the introduction of provisional administration, and evaluates the results of existing methods for analyzing the financial standing of banks. Results. The findings show that those methods that use only official reporting to assess the reliability of banks are not sufficient for short-term forecasting of financial stability. Ratings of the majority of agencies that rest on official reporting have a high percentage of erroneous results, therefore, rating agencies are not able to predict the regulator's decisions regarding a credit institution. Conclusions. Currently, there are no universal methods to determine reliability, which would provide a correct forecast of deteriorated financial position of the bank. It is important to use a systems approach, where financial reporting is not a key component.
