In this report, we analyse the benthic hydroids collected on the Vema and Valdivia seamounts during a survey conducted in 2015 in the SEAFO Convention Area, focused on mapping and analysing the occurrence and abundance of benthopelagic fish and vulnerable marine ecosystem (VMEs) indicators on selected Southeast Atlantic seamounts. A total of 27 hydroid species were identified, of which 22 belong to Leptothecata and only five to Anthoathecata. Monostaechoides gen. nov. was erected within the family Halopterididae to accommodate Plumularia providentiae Jarvis, 1922, and a new species, Monotheca bergstadi sp. nov., is also described. Campanularia africana is recorded for the first time from the Atlantic Ocean, and the Northeast Atlantic species Amphinema biscayana, Stegopoma giganteum and Clytia gigantea are also recorded from the South Atlantic. Three species were identified to the genus level only, due to the absence of their gonosomes. None of the reported species are endemic, and the hydroid community is clearly dominated by species with a wide geographical distribution in the three major oceans. Only Monotheca bergstadi sp. nov. presently has its distribution restricted to the Vema Seamount and the South African coast.

The family Alucitidae in Korea is reviewed. One species is described as new, Pterotopteryx koreana sp. nov., and two species are reported for the first time, Alucita japonica (Matsumura) and Pterotopteryx spilodesma (Meyrick). A key to the three species is provided, along with data on their biology and geographical distribution. External and genitalic characteristics of the species are described and illustrated.

The genus Lohmannia (Oribatida, Lohmanniidae) is recorded for the first time in South Africa. A new species of Lohmannia is described from the nest of termites of the Franklin Game Reserve on Naval Hill, Bloemfontein, based on the adult and tritonymphal instar. Lohmannia (Lohmannia) lerallana sp. nov. differs from L. (Lohmannia) turcmenica Bulanova-Zachvatkina, 1960 by the presence of distinct macrofoveolate ornamentation on the body, setiform subcapitular setae m1 and long lateral and posterior notogastral setae. A supplementary description of Papillacarus angulatus Wallwork, 1962 is presented based on the South African specimens. Information on distribution and ecology of known lohmanniids in South Africa is provided.

Five new species belonging to the subfamily Torodorinae of Lecithoceridae are described from Bioko Island (Equatorial Guinea), based on specimens which were collected during a short expedition on the island by the second author in 1994. The new species are three species of the genus Thubdora Park, 2018 (T. biocoica sp. nov., T. vernaculella sp. nov., and T. angustiala sp. nov.), and a new species of Ptilothyris Walsingham, 1891and Dragmatucha Meyrick, 1908 respectively (Ptylothyris ruicheensis sp. nov.; and Dragmatucha vulcaniella sp. nov.). In addition, Thubdora bilobella Park, 2018 is reported for the first time from Equatorial Guinea. Images for adults and the genitalia of all species are given.

A Small collection of fossils from the Bokkeveld Beds has recently been sent to me for identification by the South African Museum, and some of them have been generously presented to the Sedgwick Museum. Amongst this material it is interesting to find some genera not previously recorded from the Cape and some new species. The majority of the specimens are in the condition of internal casts, and hence present especial difficulties in their determination, so that in a few cases some uncertainty must remain as to the generic position of the fossils. However, I am able to record for the first time from these beds the occurrence of the well-known lamellibranchiate genus Buchiola, and of a shell which may be identified with Nyussa arguta, Hall, of the North American Devonian. The genus Buchiola occurs in argillaceous nodules from the Zwartberg Pass crowded with individuals of the species which I have named B. subpalmata and with a few examples of an undetermined species. No other associated fossils can be recognised in these nodules, but I am informed that an abundant fauna is found in the beds at this locality.

This work includes taxonomic data on two species of oribatid mites of the family Otocepheidae from Malaysia. A new species of the genus Fissicepheus is described. Fissicepheus parastriganovae n. sp. differs from Fissicepheus striganovae Ermilov and Anichkin, 2014 by body ornamentation, length of interlamellar and notogastral setae and morphology of genital plates. The species Leptotocepheus murphyi (Mahunka, 1989) is recorded in Malaysia for the first time. A supplementary description of this species which was originally described from Singapore is given on the basis of the Malaysian specimens. The main morphological traits for L. murphyi are summarized.

A new species of zerconid mites, Prozercon caspiansis sp. nov. is described based on female, male, and protonymph specimens collected from different forestland areas in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran. In addition, the male and larval specimens of P. dominiaki Błaszak were found in the same region and described for the first time. An updated key for the Iranian Prozercon species is provided, and the situation of the Iranian genera and species of the family is briefly discussed.

Yara marmontsedu, a new species in the family Hydroscaphidae (Coleoptera: Myxophaga), is described and illustrated. Specimens of Y. marmontsedu were collected at the Pijibay Creek, tributary of the Mico River in Chontales, Nicaragua. The immature stages are described and illustrated for the first time for a species of Yara. This is a contribution to the knowledge of the water beetle fauna of Nicaragua.

The oribatid mite family Astegistidae is represented in Mongolia by four species in two genera. A new species, Cultroribula taigagica sp. nov., collected from cool temperate forests in Northern Mongolia is described based on adults. In addition, three known species, Astegistes pilosus (C.L. Koch, 1840), Cultroribula dentata Willmann, 1950 and Cultroribula vtorovi Krivolutsly, 1971 are recorded for the first time from Mongolia, which are redescribed along with data on their distribution and ecology. A key to Mongolian species of Astegistidae is given.

A new species of amphipod of the family Ischyroceridae is described. Isaeopsis chiloensis n. sp. was discovered in association with the cancrid species Metacarcinus edwardsii and Romaleon setosum, in the inner sea around Chiloé Island, in Southern Chile. This represents the second species of the genus Isaeopsis, a group formerly known only from South African waters.                The new species is characterized principally by the structure of the gnathopods, the propodus of pereopods 3–7 and the ornamentation of the outer ramus of uropod 3. The male gnathopod 2 has a prominent thumb in the posteroproximal margin of the propodus and the pereopods 3–7 are subchelate with the palm armed by a row of at least five strong setae. In addition, the apex of the outer ramus of uropod 3 bears a comb with more than thirty fine teeth. Isaeopsis chiloensis n. sp. is completely described and a series of illustrations is provided.

Quill mites (Acariformes: Prostigmata: Syringophilidae) parasitizing waxbills of genus Estrilda Swainson (Aves: Passeriformes: Estrildidae) from the Sub-Saharan region are studied for the first time. Among them, a new species, Syringophiloidus estrildus sp. nov., is described and new host species for Neosyringophilopsis lonchurus Skoracki, 2008, Neoaulonastus oryzivorus (Skoracki, 2011) comb. nov., and Picobia lonchurae Skoracki et al., 2016 are recorded. In our study, we examined 120 specimens belonging to seven of the 16 (44%) species of the genus Estrilda. The prevalence of infestation by syringophilid species varied from 3.7 to 25%. The host and habitat (feather type) specificity are discussed.
