The present work is devoted to the analysis of a buckling behavior of a cylindrical composite panel. The considered structure is subjected to the uniform axial compression. The wall of the panel consists of the 8 layers. In addition, in the geometrical center of the structure there is a square delamination located between the fourth and the fifth layer. The main goal is to determine the buckling and post - buckling behavior as well as the influence of the delamination on the stability of the structure. The nonlinear numerical analysis is carried out with aid of the FEM method. The experimental verification is also performed. The results obtained from numerical and experimental analysis show very similar behavior of the structure.

GPRS data transparent transmission modules are increasingly applied in different remote transmission occasions. With the development of remote monitoring system, there are some deficiencies need to be improved. This paper realizes a design of GPRS transparent transmission modules with multi-master communications function, the module integrates RS232 interface and supports UDP protocol. After experimental verification, the stability and practicability of the design is superior.

The critical conditions for the formation of Taylor vortices between horizontal concentric cylinders are considered in detail. (1) Where the flow is unidirectional round the annular space and is caused entirely by the rotation of the inner cylinder. (2) Where the flow is caused entirely by pumping round the annular space. (3) Where a liquid is caused to reverse its flow at a free surface, the flow being entirely caused by the rotation of the inner cylinder. The last case is analyzed by the method of small disturbances and the conditions under which Taylor vortices will form are found. Results for the first two cases are already available in the literature. From examination of the three criteria a dimensionless number is proposed to correlate the critical values of the various parameters at the onset of these Taylor vortices. The proposed number has the advantage that it is insensitive to the velocity distribution in the annulus. It is subsequently used to predict the critical conditions for the onset of Taylor vortices under conditions that have not been analyzed, i.e. where flow is due to pumping and rotation of the inner cylinder. The criterion is found to predict successfully the results of various experiments carried out. In addition experimental verification of the theoretical work of Dean (1928) and of the additional analysis carried out in this paper is also given.

Dynamic instability is an interesting topic in the mechanics of elastic structures. Though the subject has been formed by many analytical, numerical, and experimental investigations, it has many issues, as evidenced from the critical overview of Elishakoff. Furthermore, the controversial articles of Koiter and Sugiyama on unrealistic and realistic follower forces demand experimental verification. Mullagulov has proposed a device for creating the follower forces and tested steel rods under compression. This paper highlights the experimentation of Mullagulov and his observations briefly to examine the influence of material properties on the stability load estimations and to confirm the practical realization of follower forces.

In this part of the paper series, chatter experiments are conducted in order to verify the proposed stability models presented in the first part (Ozlu, E., and Budak, E., 2007, ASME J. Manuf. Sci. Eng., 129(4), pp. 726–732). Turning and boring chatter experiments are conducted for the cases where the tool or the workpiece is the most flexible component of the cutting system. In addition, chatter experiments demonstrating the effect of the insert nose radius on the stability limit are presented. Satisfactory agreement is observed between the analytical predictions and the experimental results.
