Abstract We propose here a delay differential equation that exhibits a new type of resonating oscillatory dynamics. The oscillatory transient dynamics appear and disappear as the delay is increased between zero to asymptotically large delay. The optimal height of the power spectrum of the dynamical trajectory is observed with the suitably tuned delay. This resonant behavior contrasts itself against the general behaviors where an increase of delay parameter leads to the persistence of oscillations or more complex dynamics.

Abstract Methods based on the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) has attracted academic attention because of its excellent convergence performance and potential application scenarios in many machine learning or optimization fields. However, classical distributed ADMM algorithm assumed ideal network communication, which do not consider the impact of network delay on computing performance. In this paper, based on the strategy of selecting bridges with lowest network latency and appropriate iterative process, we propose a latency aware distributed ADMM algorithm to alleviate the impact of network delay. The classical algorithm and proposed algorithm are tested and compared in real network scenarios. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm reduces the running time and improves the computing performance. Especially in networks with large delay, the effect is more obvious.

AbstractTraditional large-scale enterprise cloud system has the problem of large delay. Therefore, a delay tolerant data congestion avoidance algorithm based on modular computing is designed. The resource allocation rules of rbfr strategy in traditional enterprise cloud are improved to change the traditional interactive overall mode and make it modular.Using modular thinking to construct the data congestion control algorithm, mainly in the control layer to achieve the model, through the introduction of ant colony algorithm in modularization, the design of delay tolerant data congestion avoidance algorithm is realized. In order to verify the algorithm’s congestion avoidance effect, comparative experiments are designed. Experimental results show that the packet loss rate of large enterprise cloud system under this algorithm is lower than that of traditional delay tolerant data congestion avoidance algorithm.

AbstractRecently pneumatic-driven soft robots have been widely developed. Usually, the operating principle of this robot is the inflation and deflation of elastic inflatable chambers by air pressure. Some soft robots need rapid and periodic inflation and deflation of their air chambers to generate continuous motion such as progress motion or rotational motion. However, if the soft robot needs to operate far from the air pressure source, long air tubes are required to supply air pressure to its air chambers. As a result, there is a large delay in supplying air pressure to the air chamber, and the motion of the robot slows down. In this paper, we propose a compact device that changes its airflow passages by self-excited motion generated by a supply of continuous airflow. The diameter and the length of the device are 20 and 50 mm, respectively, and can be driven in a small pipe. Our proposed in-pipe mobile robot is connected to the device and can move in a small pipe by dragging the device into it. To apply the device widely to other soft robots, we also discuss a method of adjusting the output pressure and motion frequency.

Abstract A numerical approach is suggested for the layer behaviour differential-difference equations with small and large delays in the differentiated term. Using the non-polynomial spline, the numerical scheme is derived. The discretization equation is constructed using the first order derivative continuity at non-polynomial spline internal mesh points. A fitting parameter is introduced into the scheme with the help of the singular perturbation theory to minimize the error in the solution. The maximum errors in the solution are tabulated to verify the competence of the numerical method relative to the other methods in literature. We also focused on the impact of large delays on the layer behaviour or oscillatory behaviour of solutions using a special mesh with and without fitting parameter in the proposed scheme. Graphs show the effect of the fitting parameter on the solution layer.
