Dynamic instability is an interesting topic in the mechanics of elastic structures. Though the subject has been formed by many analytical, numerical, and experimental investigations, it has many issues, as evidenced from the critical overview of Elishakoff. Furthermore, the controversial articles of Koiter and Sugiyama on unrealistic and realistic follower forces demand experimental verification. Mullagulov has proposed a device for creating the follower forces and tested steel rods under compression. This paper highlights the experimentation of Mullagulov and his observations briefly to examine the influence of material properties on the stability load estimations and to confirm the practical realization of follower forces.

Some researchers consider the qualitative research approach is a finished enterprise; however, this is not the case. This chapter discusses some methodological decisions through a proposal that plurisignifies qualitative research as an otherwise intuitive approach. This derives from a doctoral study about peace construction (PC) in applied linguistics (AL) to English language teaching (ELT). Firstly, a problematization around qualitative research develops to question taken-for-granted methodological beliefs, concepts, and practices, which represent the instrumentalization of research. Secondly, a proposal to re-humanize these problematized aspects is presented through a discussion of its relationalities and a short description of a practical realization of it. Conclusions wrap up the main contributions of this chapter and comment on their possible implications.

The role of interdepartmental interaction to combating against domestic violence is described. The need for interdepartmental cooperation in combating against domestic violence is highlighted. Interdepartmental cooperation is considered as a coordinated prevention of domestic violence and ensuring effective and practical realization of the rights of victims. Aspects (appearance, meaning, process, result) of domestic violence are described. It is stated that the act of domestic violence is a planned, conscious, controlled process. It is proved that in accordance with international standards and domestic legislation, interdepartmental cooperation is carried out both in the field of prevention and combating domestic violence. A socio-pedagogical model of domestic violence prevention is developed. The use of the model makes it possible to describe not only the long-term relationships between its components, but also to determine the potential ability of individual components in the future to restore equilibrium. In general, the developed socio and pedagogical model of prevention of domestic violence will effectively to combating against domestic violence and its recurrence. Presented analysis demonstrates the benefits of comprehensively reflecting the interagency relationships between different organizations and victims of domestic violence.

We show how a theoretical framework developed for modelling nonuniform growth can model the shot peen forming process. Shot peen forming consists in bombarding a metal panel with multiple millimeter-sized shot, that induce local bending of the panel. When applied to different areas of the panel, peen forming generates compound curvature profiles starting from a flat state. We present a theoretical approach and its practical realization for simulating peen forming numerically. To achieve this, we represent the panel undergoing peen forming as a bilayer plate, and we apply a geometry-based theory of non-Euclidean plates to describe its reconfiguration. Our programming code based on this approach solves two types of problems: it simulates the effect of a predefined treatment (the forward problem) and it finds the optimal treatment to achieve a predefined target shape (the inverse problem). Both problems admit using multiple peening regimes simultaneously. The algorithm was tested numerically on 200 randomly generated test cases.

We have developed an end-to-end simulation model for the light-emitting diode-pumped solidstate laser using the Monte Carlo photon tracing technique. The model considers complete specifics and spectral characteristics of light-emitting diodes. This model is the first of its kind to enable comprehensive analysis of light-emitting diode-pumped laser systems to the best of our knowledge. The model revealed several critical implications, which can be considered in the practical realization of light-emitting diode-pumped lasers.

In order to make the decision to implement a project from any domain, several aspects must be analyzed in the preliminary stage, leading to the justification of the practical realization of the project. Feasibility is based on technical-economic criteria but also involves other impact factors, such as social and ecological. In the case of hydrogen, there are not many countries with experience in the field, but in the future it is expected that hydrogen technologies will expand, from production, transport, storage, distribution and use. There are more and more factors that encourage the development of hydrogen projects and the funding proposed through European environmental agreements is a real challenge for specialists. Therefore, the authors of the paper aimed to analyze several aspects of the feasibility of hydrogen production and storage projects with the identification of implementation conditions: benefits, efficiency, costs, sources of funding, entities involved, constraints or legislative framework.

The paper presents the authority data provided by the German authority file (GND), its hisrory and conceptual founding in FRBR and FRAD. Referring to selected examples, the text scrutinizes carefully the potential and obstacles of using name authority data in digital humanities projects. However, the focus lies on the newly implemented work authority data that promises to be highly relevant for digital musicology. Challenges of theoretical concepts as well as practical realization are shown and different application scenarios are discussed. The author calls for a lively exchange between musicologists and librarians on the design and potential of the GND as basic musicological ontology.

The corrosivity of chloride-based electrolytes is a major shortcoming in the practical realization of rechargeable aluminum batteries. Herein, the effect of Cl- on Al speciation and electrochemistry in tetrahydrofuran was measured by employing theoretical and experimental approaches for three systems: Al(OTF)3/THF, Al(OTF)3 plus LiCl in THF, and AlCl3/THF. The high consistency between measured and computed spectroscopic aspects associated with Al(OTF)3/THF electrolyte provided both a rationale for understanding Al complex-ion formation in a Cl- free environment and an approach for examining the effect of Cl- on Al speciation. Room-temperature Al plating was achieved from dilute solutions ([Al] = 0.1M) at potentials ≥ 0V (vs. Al⁄Al3+). Cl- is found to enable facile Al plating and SEM reveals that Al is electrochemically deposited as nanocrystalline grains.
