PT. Garuda Maintenance Facility (GMF) is a member of Garuda Indonesia, which provides free ticket facilities every year for its permanent employees. However, most of its employees have problems in making tour package reservations due to the lack of knowledge of tourist attractions. The purpose of this research is to provide solutions for PT. GMF employees in making tour package reservations, and it can be the solution for Koperasi Karyawan Garuda Maintenance Facility AeroAsia Sejahtera (KopKar GMF AAS) business opportunities in tourism sector. This research is using the interview method, observation, and literature review to compile the research supporting data, whereas the analysis method and design is using object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD). The result of this research is a form of system design which provides convenience for the employees who are making tour package reservations, as well as a business solution for KopKar GMF AAS. PT. GMF employees as the user of the tour package reservations user, and KopKar GMF AAS as the admin (administrator) of the system. To generate an information system which is in accordance with the needs of company requires an analysis of business processes by observing the running system. Solutions for problems found when doing the business are observed using the systems approach. Object-oriented analysis and design is a method currently used to build an information system. The system development with "Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD)" method stated by Satzinger includes making activity diagram, event table, class diagram, usecase diagrams, usecase description, state chart diagram, deployment and software architecture, first-cut design class diagram, simple sequence diagram (SSD), the sequence diagram (first-cut, view layer, data access layer), communication diagram, updated design class diagram, package diagram, persistent object, user interface. The result obtained after performing all phases is an information system that fits the company needs which is expected to improve the performance and effectiveness in business processes and also support the company's business goals.

This research project gathered data about the use of UML and object-oriented analysis and design as the approach to the development of information systems. The data collection method consisted of interviews with information systems application developers with wide ranging differences in background. The authors used causal mapping for analysis of the data gathered. This chapter focuses on the authors’ experiences with causal mapping as a method for exploring issues and relationships. Causal mapping was also used to document tips on its use illustrating these with findings regarding UML and object-oriented analysis and design in particular.
