Globalisation has altered the conditions of work and learning in Europe. Many European countries specialise in non-offshorable, knowledge- and skill-intensive tasks which require a highly educated workforce that is able to interact in global settings. European Higher Education Institutions (HEI) face the challenge of meeting the increased demand for skills of globalised work environments. In order to do this, HEI need to adapt their educational concepts. This involves promoting internationalisation, entrepreneurial and innovation skills. This paper aims to develop an educational framework for boosting student and staff employability at European HEI. It further adds to the practical dimension of HEI internationalisation, entrepreneurship education and innovation pedagogy by presenting an example how these interrelated concepts can be integrated into the curricula of HEI. At the methodological level this implies broadening traditional content-focused curricula and making use of active teaching methods that foster deep learning, best acquired in real work situations. Taking internationalisation serious further entails building up virtual learning networks and tapping the full potential of e-learning.

Private and academic institutions are embracing E-learning as an attempt to improve the learning process, encourage knowledge transfer and compliment their existing learning environment. For many countries with a large population, limited resources and remote geographical areas like Indonesia, E-learning holds the key to better education and provide better access to knowledge resources. E-learning is still new in Indonesia and there are not many studies reported in the literature. This study aimed to provide some ideas about the state of E-learning in Indonesia, specifically in higher education institutions. A survey was carried out to reveal the state of E-learning in higher education institutions in Indonesia. Sample of the population consists of lecturers, developers and researchers who work for higher education institutions in Indonesia. While the study showed that most of the E-learning projects are new and the level of participation is slow, the quality of E-learning courses is perceived as fair. As E-learning development in Indonesia is still in its early stages, serious efforts are needed to facilitate E-learning in higher institutions. The study identified infrastructure problems and staffs' reluctance to adopt E-learning as the main problems for the slow implementation and adoption of E-learning. Despite these problems, E-learning is expected to gain momentum in Indonesia as it is perceived as an effective way to educate the population of Indonesia.

Due to the threat posed by COVID-19, many colleges and universities around the world opted to switch to online courses and smart working to keep their students, professors, and staff safe during the pandemic emergency. Face-to-face classes, including labs and workshops, have been canceled and substituted with online activities. New administrative procedures have also been established to support the emergency remote education. This article analyzes these changes in light of the experiences of three higher education institutions in different countries, namely Latvia, Poland, and Italy. From this analysis, some aspects have emerged that have stimulated a deeper reflection on the use of digital technology in higher education. .
