A new species of flat mite, Cenopalpus umbellatus sp. nov. (Acari: Trombidiformes: Tenuipalpidae) is described and illustrated based on females, males, deutonymphs, protonymphs and larvae. The morphological ontogeny in idiosomal and leg chaetotaxy is briefly described for all stages. Mite specimens were collected from the leaves of Rhaphiolepis indica var. umbellata Makino (Rosaceae), an evergreen shrub native to Japan. An identification key to the world species of Cenopalpus is also provided.

A new species, Allocaeculus sirwani sp. nov. (Trombidiformes: Prostigmata: Caeculidae) is described based on adult females from Marivan city, Kurdistan Province, Iran. The new species can be distinguished from other species by the following features: the bothridial setae (bo) filiform; dorsal body setae clavate; setae c1, a2, d1, d2, e1, e2 present; setae c1 normal; adanal and pseudanal plates each bearing three pairs of setae; un-pair seta hs present; palp tarsus with seven setae; epimeral setal formula 3-2-2-4/5 and spinose setal formula of leg I 3-2-1-1-2. Also, an identification key to known species of Allocaeculus is provided.

A new species, Adamystis saboorii sp. nov. (Trombidiformes: Prostigmata: Adamystidae) is described based on adult females from Maragheh city, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. The new species can be distinguished from other species by the following features: three pairs of adoral setae; chelicera with two setae; idiosoma with reticulated dorsal shield; lateral lens-like structures absent, three pairs of aggenital setae (ag1–3) on divided coxisternal shield and two setae (ag4–5) on a large reticulated shield. Also, an identification key to known species of Adamystis is updated.

A new predatory mite species, Proprioseiulus ceylonensis sp. nov. (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is described and illustrated based on female and male specimens collected from soil-litter in Sri Lanka. The new species can be easily distinguished from all other known species in the genus by the combination of the following characters: absence of ventral setae ZV3, presence of ten macrosetae on legs and saccular calyx of spermatheca. Moreover, an identification key to the world species of the genus is presented.

A new species of the tribe Hemigasterini, Platymystax xalapa sp. nov., is described from the Mexican State of Veracruz. It is the first species of the genus described from the New World. A preliminary identification key to all known seven species of Platymystax of the world fauna is provided.

A new species of eurysquilloid stomatopod,Eurysquilla petronioisp. nov., is described from the tropical western Atlantic.Eurysquilla petronioisp. nov. is the fourteenth species of the genus to be recognized worldwide, the fifth species from the western Atlantic and the second from Brazilian waters. It is most closely related toE. maiaguesensisfrom Puerto Rico, but differs chiefly in having an unarmed versus apically spinous rostral plate and 6 or 7 rather than 8–10 teeth on dactylus of raptorial claw. A key to the species of the genus is provided.

A new species of water scavenger beetle, Laccobius (Glyptolaccobius) yinziweii sp. nov. is described from Yunnan, China. Diagnostic characters are illustrated. Laccobius (Cyclolaccobius) nitidus Gentili, 1984 is reported from Guizhou, Laccobius (Microlaccobius) hammondi Gentili, 1984 from Hubei, and Laccobius (s. str.) inopinus Gentili, 1980 from Guizhou for the first time. Additionally, an identification key to Laccobius (Glyptolaccobius) of the world is updated.

The description of a new species of oribatid mites (Oribatida) of the family Zetorchestidae—Zetorchestes krisperi sp. nov.—is proposed based on adult and tritonymph specimens collected from rainforest soil of Bi Dup-Nui Ba National Park (southern Vietnam). We also review the distinguishing characteristics for Zetorchestes species and present an identification key to Zetorchestes species of the world. Diagnostic features of Zetorchestes nymphs are discussed.
