A connected graph G V , E in which the number of edges is one more than its number of vertices is called a bicyclic graph. A perfect matching of a graph is a matching in which every vertex of the graph is incident to exactly one edge of the matching set such that the number of vertices is two times its matching number. In this paper, we investigated maximum and minimum values of variable sum exdeg index, SEI a for bicyclic graphs with perfect matching for k ≥ 5 and a > 1 .

Ryser's conjecture says that for every $r$-partite hypergraph $H$ with matching number $\nu(H)$, the vertex cover number is at most $(r-1)\nu(H)$.  This far-reaching generalization of König's theorem is only known to be true for $r\leq 3$, or when $\nu(H)=1$ and $r\leq 5$.  An equivalent formulation of Ryser's conjecture is that in every $r$-edge coloring of a graph $G$ with independence number $\alpha(G)$, there exists at most $(r-1)\alpha(G)$ monochromatic connected subgraphs which cover the vertex set of $G$.   We make the case that this latter formulation of Ryser's conjecture naturally leads to a variety of stronger conjectures and generalizations to hypergraphs and multipartite graphs.  Regarding these generalizations and strengthenings, we survey the known results, improving upon some, and we introduce a collection of new problems and results.

In this paper, we prove a collection of results on graphical indices. We determine the extremal graphs attaining the maximal generalized Wiener index (e.g. the hyper-Wiener index) among all graphs with given matching number or independence number. This generalizes some work of Dankelmann, as well as some work of Chung. We also show alternative proofs for two recents results on maximizing the Wiener index and external Wiener index by deriving it from earlier results. We end with proving two conjectures. We prove that the maximum for the difference of the Wiener index and the eccentricity is attained by the path if the order $n$ is at least $9$ and that the maximum weighted Szeged index of graphs of given order is attained by the balanced complete bipartite graphs.

We give a formula for the v-number of a graded ideal that can be used to compute this number. Then, we show that for the edge ideal I(G) of a graph G, the induced matching number of G is an upper bound for the v-number of I(G) when G is very well-covered, or G has a simplicial partition, or G is well-covered connected and contains neither four, nor five cycles. In all these cases, the v-number of I(G) is a lower bound for the regularity of the edge ring of G. We classify when the induced matching number of G is an upper bound for the v-number of I(G) when G is a cycle and classify when all vertices of a graph are shedding vertices to gain insight into the family of W2-graphs.

Let [Formula: see text] be a simple, connected graph of order [Formula: see text] and size [Formula: see text] Then, [Formula: see text] is said to be edge [Formula: see text]-choosable, if there exists a collection of subsets of the edge set, [Formula: see text] of cardinality [Formula: see text] such that [Formula: see text] whenever [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are incident. This paper initiates a study on edge [Formula: see text]-choosability of certain fundamental classes of graphs and determines the maximum value of [Formula: see text] for which the given graph [Formula: see text] is edge [Formula: see text]-choosable. Also, in this paper, the relation between edge choice number and other graph theoretic parameters is discussed and we have given a conjecture on the relation between edge choice number and matching number of a graph.
