Abstract Following the 2007–8 global food crisis, agricultural producers have invested in large tracts of land in developing countries. We investigate how the arrival of large-scale farms changes inter-personal trust and reciprocity, important components of social capital, in traditional villages. We elicit trust and reciprocal behaviour in villages that lie near large-scale farms and compare them with villages at a distance. Our data reveal greater trust in villages close to large-scale farms. Reciprocity is more frequent after farm employment. These results are likely driven by communal coping and reputation building. A natural field measure shows that trust correlates with public good sharing.

A series of questionnaire survey on condition of winter heating of residential building and field measure of typical cases were launched in Hangzhou. The characteristics of winter energy utilization in Hangzhou were found out through analyzed the survey data. In addition to air conditioning ,other heating devices are also important in Hangzhou which is a typical city in hot summer and cold winter zone. Moreover, as high as 98% dwelling houses have air-conditions, but in the winter, the number of dwelling house did not open air-conditioning account for about 1/3~1/2. Combined with the analysis of the measured data of typical cases can concluded that winter air conditioning use rate and time length per day are not high. It also shows that, in the hot summer and cold winter area, air conditioning is more important for summer cooling.

For deriving the vibration environmental test conditions of materiels in the limited field measured data, a bootstrap method is firstly employed to evaluate the upper tolerance limit of the vibration power spectral density (PSD). Firstly for the simulation data from the normal distribution, the bias-corrected bootstrap method and the bootstrap-t method are validated to attain the appropriate upper limits for the small sample data through comparing the evaluations with the true values. Secondly for the 10 and 90 flight measurements of some aircraft, the upper tolerance limits of vibration PSD have been estimated by the above method and the traditional computation methods of MIL-STD-810F and GJB126. The result shows the bootstrap method fits the actual vibration environment better than other two methods and it has a wide application in the determination of vibration test conditions based on the small field measure data.

A new round of upsurge of mine well construction were set off in the west area, but there are many problems, this article through the field measure of special strata freezing temperature in Bo-jiang-hai-zi coal mine airshaft, use the freezing shaft sinking security information network visualization platform that developed by Anhui University of Science and Technology, analysis several different strata, obtain the overall temperatre decline rate, and compare the difference between in-site shaft well temperature and the calculation value at different position, and difference is very small, it shows that the platform can good response the actual situation. Through calculation, the frozen wall thickness, average of frozen wall temperature, shaft well temperature are meet the engineering design requirement, so propose that in west area at the freezing method mine well construction, the main purpose is waterproof, and use single circle tube freezing can satisfy engineering design requirements.

Water management based on “regional objective ET” had been a hotspot in water shortage region. This article detailedly overviewed the major methods for monitoring ET through field measure and remote sensing retrieval, meanwhile application of distributed hydrological model based on multivariant checking to improve the result of remote sensing retrieval of ET was discussed. The region of Handan was chosen as a example to analyze the correlation of results of MODcycle model and remote sensing retrieval for ET calculation.
