Abstract. This study aims to determine the diversity and characteristics of freshwater fish in Sungai lais, lais sub-district, Bengkulu Utara district, Bengkulu province. This research was conducted using survey methods and to obtain primary data taken into the field by direct capture. Samples were taken in sungai lais, lais sub-district, Bengkulu Utara regency is done by dividing 3 stations. Measurement of fish morphometric characteristics is done by measuring fish body parts including, total length (PT), standard length (PB), head length (PK), height (TB), body width (LB) and tail height (TE). The results showed that the diversity index which is found in the lais river which is classified as low, with a diversity index at station A 0.666, station B 0.724 and station C 0.522. The types of fish found in this study consisted of 8 species namely Cyprinus carpio (goldfish), Osteohilus vittatus (palau fish), Anabas testudienus (fish betok), Channa striata (cork fish), Oreochromis niloticus (tilapia), Oreochromis mossambicus (tilapia fish), Trighogaster trichopterus (sepat fish), and Clarias batrachus (catfish). Keywords: Diversity, Fish, Lais River, Morphometric Characteristic

The effect of testicular mass in the prefunctional period on the morphometric and reproductive indices of roosters was studied. Ultrasound diagnostics were used to determine the size of the testicles. It is established that roosters of line A Birkivska barvysta (silver leghorn) are heterogeneous in weight of testicles in the prefunctional period; they should be distinguished as B- and M-roosters with a relative weight of testicles, respectively, up to and more than 40 mg/100 g. The incubation indices of egg quality were determined in two groups of chickens with 32 heads each with their content with roosters selected by live weight, the size of the comb and testicles. In the first and second groups of chickens were planted roosters with testicles 12-17 and 7-8 mm long at 4 months of age, respectively. In B-roosters, compared to M-roosters, the advantages of sperm (higher concentration, greater motility) were found, and higher egg fertilization when kept with chickens. The severity of correlative relationships between body masses, combs, and testicles in B-roosters is significantly less than that of M-roosters, which is probably due to their lower sensitivity to stress factors. The ratio of the mass of the comb to the mass of the testicles (C/T), whose numerical expression was in the range from 1.6 to 49, may be a new morphometric characteristic of the rooster. Of the 4-month-old offspring of B-roosters, 8 heads were selected for live weight, ridge sizes and testicular lengths within 16-20 mm. 8 groups of chickens of 8 each were also formed; a rooster was planted in each group. The total fertilization of eggs on 4 tabs within two months was 98%. It is concluded that the morphophysiological features of B-roosters persist in the offspring.

Morphometric analysis is one of the important aspects of quantitative geomorphology which is primarily used to study the geometrical aspects of the landforms. The study was undertaken with the objectives of evaluating morphometric characteristic and prioritizing the watersheds of Bhadar basin based on its morphometric characteristics.  Linear, relief and aerial aspects were calculated for watershed characterization. The watersheds were ranked on the basis of high values of linear parameters and low values of shape parameters. A total of 16 watersheds 5G1B1, 5G1B2, 5G1B3, 5G1B4, 5G1B5, 5G1B6, 5G1B7, 5G1B8, 5G1B9, 5G1B10, 5G1B11, 5G1B12, 5G1B13, 5G1B14, 5G1B15 and 5G1B16 were identified in the Bhadar basin and morphometric characteristic of each watershed was determined. Highest priority indicated the greater degree of erosion in the particular watershed and it therefore priority should be given in applying soil conservation measures. It was concluded that the watershed 5G1B15 should be given highest priority because of higher erosion problems over other watersheds of Bhadar basin while 5G1B4 should be given the least priority.
