Education prepares one for the world of work; hence, the adoption of the innovative instructional approach employed in the process of teaching and learning is key to the attainment of this goal. To mitigate students’ poor achievement in computer programming (CP), innovative pedagogy (IP) was adopted to make students become active learners in classroom learning. In this study, a quasi-experimental design was used and nonrandomized the subject with pretest and posttest. Students (N = 145) were nonrandomized to the treatment and control groups. The researchers conducted a repeated measure of analysis of variance to determine the change between the experimental and control groups. Students’ attributes were tested for differences by comparing categorical data with chi-square statistics. The interaction effect was determined using an analysis of covariance. The results revealed that the experimental group’s CP achievement test results outperformed those of the control group at posttest and retention tests. Furthermore, the findings of the study show that there is no significant difference in students’ academic achievement across ability levels and gender. Also, there is no interaction between the pretest and the IP. The study, therefore, recommends that computer educators should adopt innovative teaching practices in their day-to-day teaching since it is more creative, learner-centered, and improved student engagement.

In today's world, the traditional means of the dissemination of knowledge have become replaced by advanced digital platforms. This, alongside the context of the global pandemic that has propelled the usage of technological tools in the classroom, has created a conducive environment for innovative pedagogy. In this paper, a case for the digitization of classical rhetorical texts for pedagogical purposes is presented. To do this, principles of digital rhetoric are brought up followed by various examples of how the digital has been embraced (in the context of the wider principles of digital rhetoric) already in the pedagogical sphere. Finally, a potential proposal for an extension of the present work was put forward. Digitization and technology widely are the norms of our day and age. In viewing these elements from a pedagogical perspective, what can be seen is that there is an enormous opportunity not only in teaching the students that will walk through our doors but in preserving the rhetorical tradition that intrigues and fascinates the larger community of scholarship.

In 2017, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FNM) of the University of Maribor entered the partnership of the project Innovative Learning Environments Supported by ICT - Innovative Pedagogy 1:1, led by the Institute Anton Martin Slomšek (ZAMS) and lasting from 2017 to 2022. Innovative Pedagogy 1:1 is a project focusing on the development of competences, which are “one of the fundamental prerequisites for lifelong learning and improved employability. One of the conditions for achieving this is the implementation of flexible forms of learning, which redefine the roles of all stakeholders involved: students, professionals and principals”. The basic focus is on developing digital competencies of students, pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff, and school principals. This research describes the ways in which the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, as an academic institution training pre-service teachers of Engineering and Technology, has supported project activities, how it participated in some of the project’s key working bodies, and what its contribution is. Keywords: academic collaboration, community, innovative pedagogy, project work

This study is the result of a more recent questioning on the limits of the profession of teacher on what we are supposed to practice when we want to build effective approaches to students who have difficulty into university learning. However, periods of didactic crisis are present among experienced teachers. They are justified by the desire to trigger new approaches. This time, it is a question of adopting an innovative pedagogy in the context of the booming development of new technologies, where the role of the teacher is undergoing major changes. This questioning therefore appears following longterm observation and regular consultation within a teaching team in order to advance teaching practice.
