Abstract Let C be a nonempty closed convex subset of a real Hilbert space H and $$T: C\rightarrow CB(H)$$ T : C → C B ( H ) be a multi-valued Lipschitz pseudocontractive nonself mapping. A Halpern–Ishikawa type iterative scheme is constructed and a strong convergence result of this scheme to a fixed point of T is proved under appropriate conditions. Moreover, an iterative method for approximating a fixed point of a k-strictly pseudocontractive mapping $$T: C\rightarrow Prox(H)$$ T : C → P r o x ( H ) is constructed and a strong convergence of the method is obtained without end point condition. The results obtained in this paper improve and extend known results in the literature.

Let VIP indicate the variational inequality problem with Lipschitzian and pseudomonotone operator and let CFPP denote the common fixed-point problem of an asymptotically nonexpansive mapping and a strictly pseudocontractive mapping in a real Hilbert space. Our object in this article is to establish strong convergence results for solving the VIP and CFPP by utilizing an inertial-like gradient-like extragradient method with line-search process. Via suitable assumptions, it is shown that the sequences generated by such a method converge strongly to a common solution of the VIP and CFPP, which also solves a hierarchical variational inequality (HVI).

The aim of this paper is to introduce a modified viscosity iterative method to approximate a solution of the split variational inclusion problem and fixed point problem for a uniformly continuous multivalued total asymptotically strictly pseudocontractive mapping in C A T ( 0 ) spaces. A strong convergence theorem for the above problem is established and several important known results are deduced as corollaries to it. Furthermore, we solve a split Hammerstein integral inclusion problem and fixed point problem as an application to validate our result. It seems that our main result in the split variational inclusion problem is new in the setting of C A T ( 0 ) spaces.

LetKbe a nonempty, closed, and convex subset of a real Hilbert spaceH. Suppose thatT:K→2Kis a multivalued strictly pseudocontractive mapping such thatF(T)≠∅. A Krasnoselskii-type iteration sequence{xn}is constructed and shown to be an approximate fixed point sequence ofT; that is,limn→∞d(xn,Txn)=0holds. Convergence theorems are also proved under appropriate additional conditions.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce and analyze the Mann-type extragradient iterative algorithms with regularization for finding a common element of the solution setΞof a general system of variational inequalities, the solution setΓof a split feasibility problem, and the fixed point setFix(S)of a strictly pseudocontractive mappingSin the setting of the Hilbert spaces. These iterative algorithms are based on the regularization method, the Mann-type iteration method, and the extragradient method due to Nadezhkina and Takahashi (2006). Furthermore, we prove that the sequences generated by the proposed algorithms converge weakly to an element ofFix(S)∩Ξ∩Γunder mild conditions.

We first extend the definition of Wnfrom an infinite family of nonexpansive mappings to an infinite family of strictly pseudocontractive mappings, and then propose an iterative scheme by the viscosity approximation method for finding a common element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of fixed points of an infinite family ofki-strictly pseudocontractive mappings in Hilbert spaces. The results obtained in this paper extend and improve the recent ones announced by many others. Furthermore, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

We investigate the problem of finding a common solution of a general system of variational inequalities, a variational inclusion, and a fixed-point problem of a strictly pseudocontractive mapping in a real Hilbert space. Motivated by Nadezhkina and Takahashi's hybrid-extragradient method, we propose and analyze new hybrid-extragradient iterative algorithm for finding a common solution. It is proven that three sequences generated by this algorithm converge strongly to the same common solution under very mild conditions. Based on this result, we also construct an iterative algorithm for finding a common fixed point of three mappings, such that one of these mappings is nonexpansive, and the other two mappings are strictly pseudocontractive mappings.

We consider and study the modified extragradient methods for finding a common element of the solution setΓof a split feasibility problem (SFP) and the fixed point setFix(S)of a strictly pseudocontractive mappingSin the setting of infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces. We propose an extragradient algorithm for finding an element ofFix(S)∩ΓwhereSis strictly pseudocontractive. It is proven that the sequences generated by the proposed algorithm converge weakly to an element ofFix(S)∩Γ. We also propose another extragradient-like algorithm for finding an element ofFix(S)∩ΓwhereS:C→Cis nonexpansive. It is shown that the sequences generated by the proposed algorithm converge strongly to an element ofFix(S)∩Γ.

We introduce new implicit and explicit algorithms for finding the fixed point of ak-strictly pseudocontractive mapping and for solving variational inequalities related to the Lipschitzian and strongly monotone operator in Hilbert spaces. We establish results on the strong convergence of the sequences generated by the proposed algorithms to a fixed point of ak-strictly pseudocontractive mapping. Such a point is also a solution of a variational inequality defined on the set of fixed points. As direct consequences, we obtain the unique minimum-norm fixed point of ak-strictly pseudocontractive mapping.
