Metal organic framework (MOFs) of ternary metal precursors with different organic linkers are synthesized and fabricated on Ni-foam as the electrodes via hydrothermal reaction aiming to enhance the electrical conductivity and the specific capacitance, Cs. We report the preparation of ternary metal with different organic linkers named CoCuNi-bi using terephthalic acid (H2bdc), CoCuNi-tri using trimellitic acid and CoCuNi-tetra using pyromellitic acid with increasing of active sites on Ni-foam substrate respectively. The CoCuNi-tetra demonstrates the highest Cs of 740 F g-1 at 2 mV/s & 791 F g-1 (87.9 mAh g-1) at 1 Ag-1 respectively followed by CoCuNi-tri (674 F g-1 at 1 A g-1; 74.9 mAh g-1) and CoCuNi-bi (591 F g-1 at 1 A g-1; 65.7 mAh g-1). CoCuNi-tetra shows the best electrochemical performance hence it could be the encouraging electrode for supercapacitor materials.

A new approach to synthesis at the aminated glass surface of novel biocompatible polymeric nanolayers consisting of poly(N-methacryloyl-L-proline) brushes has been developed. Formation of the polymer nanolayers has been realized in several stages. At the first stage, the glass surface has been modified by aminosilane (APTEC), afterwards monolayer of the peroxide-containing initiator (PI) based on pyromellitic acid has been tethered to this aminated surface. The immobilized PI has been used further for initiation of the grafting "from the surface" polymerization of N-methacryloyl-L-proline for obtaining of the peptidomimetic polymer brushes. Features of the reactions, as well as optimal conditions for performing the process are highlighted in this work. Presented here poly(N-methacryloyl-L-proline) grafted brush coatings are promising material for numerous applications in nanomedicine, especially for production of implants and systems of the controlled interaction with proteins and cells.

Abstract The development of graphene oxide/rare earth complexes luminescent materials is limited due to the strong quenching ability of graphene oxide. However, the hybrid materials with pyromellitic acid (PMA) as ligand not only have better performance, but also have stronger luminescence intensity. Herein we tested the effect of the carboxylic acid structure of PMA on the luminescence intensity of graphene oxide/rare earth complexes hybrid materials. Phthalic acid (PA), Isophthalic acid (i-PA) and Terephthalic acid (p-PA) are selected as test ligand, representing the o-position, meta-position and para-position effects of PMA. By comparing the luminescence intensity, we found that o-position effect is helpful for the ligand to sensitize rare earth ions, and meta-position and para-position effects are helpful for the graphene oxide sheets (GOSs) to improve the luminescence intensity of hybrid materials and inhibit the quenching effect of the GOSs. Furthermore, we speculate on the relationship between the distance of π-π stacking of GOSs and rare earth complexes and luminescence intensity of hybrid materials. This work provides an important reference for the design of graphene oxide/rare-earth aromatic carboxylic acid hybrid luminescent materials.

The synthesis and characterization of coordination polymers and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) has attracted a significant interest over the last decades due to their fascinating physical properties, as well as their use in a wide range of technological, environmental, and biomedical applications. The initial use of 2-pyridyl oximic ligands such as pyridine-2 amidoxime (H2pyaox) and 2-methyl pyridyl ketoxime (Hmpko) in combination with 1,2,4,5-benzene tetracarboxylic acid (pyromellitic acid), H4pma, provided access to nine new compounds whose structures and properties are discussed in detail. Among them, [Zn2(pma)(H2pyaox)2(H2O)2]n (3) and [Cu4(OH)2(pma)(mpko)2]n (9) are the first MOFs based on a 2-pyridyl oxime with 9 possessing a novel 3,4,5,8-c net topology. [Zn2(pma)(H2pyaox)2]n (2), [Cu2(pma)(H2pyaox)2(DMF)2]n (6), and [Cu2(pma)(Hmpko)2(DMF)2]n (8) join a small family of coordination polymers containing an oximic ligand. 9 exhibits selectivity for FeIII ions adsorption, as was demonstrated by a variety of techniques including UV-vis, EDX, and magnetism. DC magnetic susceptibility studies in 9 revealed the presence of strong antiferromagnetic interactions between the metal centers, which lead to a diamagnetic ground state; it was also found that the magnetic properties of 9 are affected by the amount of the encapsulated Fe3+ ions, which is a very desirable property for the development of magnetism-based sensors.
