Abstract While designing phase-correlation direction finders, as antenna components, the non-directional ones are usually applied. Mounting the non-directional antenna components provides certain new options but makes the bearing computation procedure more problematic. In the present paper, the feasibility of using the directional antenna components is discussed and confirmed in terms of its positive influence on the stability of the bearing results in the case when the deviations of the implementations of the actual diagrams of the antenna components from their reference model occur.

Abstract The projection of outstanding liabilities caused by incurred losses or claims has played a fundamental role in general insurance operations. Loss reserving methods based on individual losses generally perform better than those based on aggregate losses. This study uses a parametric individual information model taking not only individual losses but also individual information such as age, gender, and so on from policies themselves into account. Based on this model, this study proposes a computation procedure for the projection of the outstanding liabilities, discusses the estimation and statistical properties of the unknown parameters, and explores the asymptotic behaviors of the resulting loss reserving as the portfolio size approaching infinity. Most importantly, this study demonstrates the benefits of individual information on loss reserving. Remarkably, the accuracy gained from individual information is much greater than that from considering individual losses. Therefore, it is highly recommended to use individual information in loss reserving in general insurance.

In the paper, nanotrigger-based electronic device, capable of performing the quantum computation procedure, is described. The device represents a quantum logic gate formed from a two-dimensional material and controlled by a quantum dot. The operation of the quantum dot is analyzed. In the model representation, the transition between two states of the quantum dot, each of which controls the flow of the nanotransistor current (one of the shoulders of the nanotrigger), is equivalent to tunneling through an energy barrier separating the states. Fundamentally important is the fact that in one of these states the quantum dot is diamagnetic, and in the other it is paramagnetic. The paramagnetism of the quantum dot is due to the electronic exchange interaction, characteristic of the systems with unpaired electrons. Thus, the elementary self-organized 2D-material-derived logic gate disclosed in the present work can be employed for design of an electronic reversible unit.In other words, such a unit is able to prepare and to trigger the computation procedure.

This paper summarises the results of motion analysis of a platform mechanism with a monolith design. A four-link planar mechanism was engineered in which the platform positioning is effected via one passive link and two eccentric links actuated by stepper motors. The prototype of the device was fabricated following a computation procedure based on the classical mechanism and machine theory and FEM calculations. Testing performed on the model and on the real device revealed the presence of two points on the platform for which the resultant of two independent perpendicular displacements implemented by two stages can be obtained for small values of angular displacement.

A computation procedure is developed allowing the definition of inter-operation dimensions and allowances for machining coating applied and also the definition of the route for basic material machining and the substantiation of the parts group formation according to design-technological signs and repair dimensions. In the paper there shown procedures for the computation of coating thickness depending on parts wear. There is developed a circuit to the computation of a coating residual layer. An expression for the computation of coating thickness is obtained. Theoretical dependences and computation procedures are obtained that allows solving the whole problem complex arising at the dimension analysis of engineering processes of manufacturing parts with coatings.
