<div> <div> <div> <p>Child and youth care instructors often aspire to prepare students for unforeseen circumstances in the field, including circumstances that may require spontaneous advocacy and public speaking skills in various settings, such as an interdisciplinary case conference or a plan of care meeting. We suggest that one way of contributing to these goals is the pedagogy of the lightning talk. A lightning talk can be defined as a short (three minutes), time-limited, oral presentation on a particular subject without the use of supporting materials, such as Power Point slides, notes, an electronic device, or audience engagement, so as to simulate a practice context that was unexpected and for which the practitioner has no opportunity to plan or prepare (Jean-Pierre et al., 2020). </p><div> <div>In this article, we will share the main lessons learned from a study that examined the learning experiences and processes of the pedagogy of the lightning talk at a Canadian metropolitan university in two child and youth care undergraduate courses. </div> </div> <p></p> </div> </div> </div>

Abstract COVID-19 pandemic requires the community to adapt and limit their activities to minimize the transmission of COVID-19. This policy increasing the use of gadgets, which can affect eye health. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of public knowledge about eye health while using gadgets before and after receiving education and to determine the relationship between habitual electronic device use and Computer Vision Syndrome. The design of this research is analytic observational. Data were obtained from questionnaires given before and after education regarding eye health when using gadgets during WFH. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in frequency table and statistical analysis will be conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Chi-Square and Contingency Coefficients. The mean scores at pre-test and post-test were 4.84±1.65 and 6.10±1.77, respectively, representing a significant increase in knowledge of eye health by 26.0% (p= 0.000). Habits of using gadgets including duration, distance and use of spectacles correlated with the incidence of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) (p=0.016, C=0.168; p=0.010, C=0.181; p=0.035, C=0.181). Eye health education is useful for increasing knowledge and changing people's behavior to prevent fatigue due to the use of gadgets. Inappropriate use of gadgets can increase the incidence of CVS.

The wind energy is one of the low qualities because of change in direction and velocity of wind. So, the input power and the frequency will be varied which affects the operation of system. For a prescribed wind velocity, the mechanical power available from the wind turbine is function of shaft speed. The shaft speed is varying due to the change in the wind velocity; thereby change in frequency and voltage is developed at the output of the induction generator. Power electronics converters are used for stabilizing the varying parameters and to obtain a constant frequency of 50Hz. commonly used power electronic device is back-to-back converters or ACDC-AC converters which has many disadvantages like costly, bulky. Through matrix converter, the terminal voltage and frequency of the induction generator can be controlled in such a way that the wind turbine will be operating at a constant frequency of 50 Hertz.

AbstractCarbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted great attentions in the field of electronics, sensors, healthcare, and energy conversion. Such emerging applications have driven the carbon nanotube research in a rapid fashion. Indeed, the structure control over CNTs has inspired an intensive research vortex due to the high promises in electronic and optical device applications. Here, this in-depth review is anticipated to provide insights into the controllable synthesis and applications of high-quality CNTs. First, the general synthesis and post-purification of CNTs are briefly discussed. Then, the state-of-the-art electronic device applications are discussed, including field-effect transistors, gas sensors, DNA biosensors, and pressure gauges. Besides, the optical sensors are delivered based on the photoluminescence. In addition, energy applications of CNTs are discussed such as thermoelectric energy generators. Eventually, future opportunities are proposed for the Internet of Things (IoT) oriented sensors, data processing, and artificial intelligence.

Objective: A patient communication program was implemented as a response to hospitals visiting restrictive policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the program was to facilitate communication between patients and families, mainly through the use of digital tablets; thus program performance was evaluated by selecting the number of calls performed, the average call time, and the percentage of patients that used the program more than once. Methods: A communication service for hospitalized patients who did not have access to a personal electronic device or were unable to use their electronic device was launched at different MUHC hospitals. A dedicated team of re-deployed employees was available to help patients connect with their loved ones using a hospital tablet or telephone. Results: A total of 806 calls were performed between April and November 2020. Eighty one percent of the calls were performed during the non-visitors policy implementation, being video calls preferred over phone calls. The average call time was 15 min, 34% of the patients had a video call with their loved one more than once and 40% of the calls were performed in the intensive care unit. Conclusion: The patient communication program can be described as a new delivery model of compassionate care. It was effective, helped reduce patients’ isolation and met the needs of family members and caregivers during the hospital non-visitors policy directed by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux de Québec during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In this paper, a numerical investigation of the steady laminar mixed convection flow in a porous square enclosure has been considered. This structure represents a practical system such as an external through flow of cooled-air an electronic device from its moving sides. The heating was supplied by an internal volumetric source with an uniform distribution at the middle part of its bottom, while the other walls were assumed thermally insulated. Moreover, the momentum transfer in the porous substrate was numerically investigated using the Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer law. The governing equations of the posed problem have been solved by applying the finite difference technique on non-uniform grids. For all simulations, the Reynolds number and the porosity have been fixed respectively to Re=100 and φ=0.9. Darcy’s value was varied in the range from 0.001 to 0.1. The results detected the existence of a radical change in the contour patterns for Richardson number equal to 11.76 and 11.77 with fixed Da=0.1. This behavior signified that the fluid is fully convected for higher Darcy number.
