We show that the term equivalence between MV-algebras and MV-semirings lifts to involutive residuated lattices and a class of semirings called involutive semirings. The semiring perspective leads to a necessary and sufficient condition for the interval [Formula: see text] to be a subalgebra of an involutive residuated lattice, where [Formula: see text] is the dualizing element. We also import some results and techniques of semimodule theory in the study of this class of semirings, generalizing results about injective and projective MV-semimodules. Indeed, we note that the involution plays a crucial role and that the results for MV-semirings are still true for involutive semirings whenever the Mundici functor is not involved. In particular, we prove that involution is a necessary and sufficient condition in order for projective and injective semimodules to coincide.

In this article, we study ideals in residuated lattice and present a characterization theorem for them. We investigate some related results between the obstinate ideals and other types of ideals of a residuated lattice, likeness Boolean, primary, prime, implicative, maximal and ʘ-prime ideals. Characterization theorems and extension property for obstinate ideal are stated and proved. For the class of ʘ-residuated lattices, by using the ʘ-prime ideals we propose a characterization, and prove that an ideal is an ʘ-prime ideal iff its quotient algebra is an ʘ-residuated lattice. Finally, by using ideals, the class of Noetherian (Artinian) residuated lattices is introduced and Cohen’s theorem is proved.

In this paper, we first point out some mistakes in [12]. Especially the Theorem 3.9 [12] showed that: Let A be residuated lattice and ∅ ≠ X ⊆ A, then the least ideal containing X can be expressed as: 〈X〉 = {a ∈ A|a ≤ (·· · ((x1 ⊕ x2) ⊕ x3) ⊕ ·· ·) ⊕ xn, xi ∈ X, i = 1, 2 ·· · , n}. But we present an example to illustrate the ideal generation formula may not hold on residuated lattices. Further we give the correct ideal generation formula on residuated lattices. Moreover, we extend the concepts of annihilators and α-ideals to MTL-algebras and focus on studying the relations between them. Furthermore, we show that the set Iα (M) of all α-ideals on a linear MTL-algebra M only contains two trivial α-ideals {0} and M. However, the authors [24] studied the structure of Iα (M) in a linear BL-algebra M, which means some results with respect to Iα (M) given in [24] are trivial. Unlike that, we investigate the lattice structure of Iα (M) on general MTL-algebras.

For L a complete co-residuated lattice and R an L-fuzzy relation, an L-fuzzy upper approximation operator based on co-implication adjoint with L is constructed and discussed. It is proved that, when L is regular, the new approximation operator is the dual operator of the Qiao–Hu L-fuzzy lower approximation operator defined in 2018. Then, the new approximation operator is characterized by using an axiom set (in particular, by single axiom). Furthermore, the L-fuzzy upper approximation operators generated by serial, symmetric, reflexive, mediate, transitive, and Euclidean L-fuzzy relations and their compositions are characterize through axiom set (single axiom), respectively.

This paper mainly focuses on building the fuzzy prime ideal theorem of residuated lattices. Firstly, we introduce the notion of fuzzy ideal generated by a fuzzy subset of a residuated lattice and we give a characterization. Also, we introduce different types of fuzzy prime ideals and establish existing relationships between them. We prove that any fuzzy maximal ideal is a fuzzy prime ideal in residuated lattice. Finally, we give and prove the fuzzy prime ideal theorem in residuated lattice.

Abstract We define the essential extension of a filter in the residuated lattice A associated to an ideal of L(A) and investigate its related properties. We prove the residuated lattice A is a Boolean algebra, G(RL)-algebra or MV -algebra if and only if the essential extension of {1} associated to A \ P is a Boolean filter, G-filter or MV -filter (for all P ∈ SpecA), respectively. Also, some properties of lattice of essential extensions are studied.

In this paper, an attempt is made to study approximate reasoning based on a Type-2 fuzzy set theory. In the process, we have examined the underlying fuzzy logic structure on which the reasoning is formulated. We have seen that the partial/incomplete/imprecise truth-values of elements of a type-2 fuzzy set under consideration forms a lattice. We propose two new lattice operations which ultimately help us to define a residual and thereby making the structure of truth- values a residuated lattice. We have focused upon two typical rules of inference used mostly in ordinary approximate reasoning methodology based on Type-1 fuzzy set theory. Our proposal is illustrated with typical artificial examples.
