In these times of Covid-19 pandemic, many Moroccan students access websites for their school support needs. The objective of this study is to carry out an evaluation of some Moroccan free school support websites and to verify their effectiveness for learners, from a socio-constructivist perspective. This evaluation is conducted out by various teachers, using an evaluation grid developed by the authors following a review of literature that identified a number of elements considered as important factors for the proper functioning of an educational website. The approach adopted allowed the grid to be validated (Cronbach's alpha equal to 0.82). The results of the evaluation show several positive aspects but also some weaknesses inherent to the studied websites, especially concerning help with work methodology and pedagogical guidance and also the interactivity. Finally, several recommendations are proposed by the authors.

Using a combination of spatial and statistical analysis, this paper focuses on analyzing the effectiveness of drug-free school zones (DFSZ) around K-12 schools in Los Angeles County. A propensity score matching model is employed to match schools and school-like entities to compare the amount of drug crimes in two distinct 1000-foot buffers surrounding them. The model is then compared to a coarsened exact matching model. The average treatment effects (ATE) and average treatment effects on the treated (ATT) are estimated. Our results indicate that there are 2.7 and 1.7 fewer drug crimes and non–marijuana-related drug crimes respectively near schools, as a result of the policy. The total effect of the policy is estimated to reduce drug crime near schools by between 1065 to 1643 fewer incidences per year. Furthermore, we find no significant differences in gang-related drug crimes, gang-related violent crimes, or property crimes as a result of the policy.

 Bài viết này nhằm làm rõ phong trào Đông Kinh Nghĩa Thục trên quan điểm cải cách giáo dục. Mặc dù, xuất hiện từ đầu thế kỉ XX, nhưng phong trào Đông Kinh Nghĩa Thục vẫn có những nét tương đồng với cái cách giáo dục Việt Nam hiện nay. Dựa trên các kết quả nghiên cứu trước đây, bài viết chỉ ra hai đặc điểm ứng dụng nổi bật của phong trào này: Thứ nhất, Đông Kinh Nghĩa Thục đã đề xuất một phương châm giáo dục cho Việt Nam; thứ hai, mô hình tổ chức, các môn học và phương pháp dạy học của phong trào đã góp phần thay đổi mọi khía cạnh của nền giáo dục cũ. Có thể nói, phong trào Đông Kinh Nghĩa Thục đã để lại kinh nghiệm trong việc tạo ra một triết lí giáo dục nhất quán, đối với việc thay đổi phương pháp và chủ đề giảng dạy hiện nay.

Free school is the hope of all parents. In fact free school is not really free. Teachers are still paid, uniforms and books are still purchased, activities still require funds, and even building rentals are not free. At the beginning of its establishment, SMP Juara Bandung made its education services free for all its students, because it received financial support from its main donor, namely the National Amil Zakat Institution (Laznas) Rumah Zakat. Because the implementation of 19 sekolah juara throughout Indonesia is a permanent burden for Rumah Zakat and this is operationally challenging, the transformation of sekolah juara is needed to realize sustainable education for SMP Juara Bandung. The transformation takes a social enterprise approach which generally consists of three qualifications, namely embedded, integrated, and external. SMP Juara Bandung applies the first qualification in the implementation of its social enterprise, namely the social enterprise qualification embedded in the form of cross-subsidies between paid general students and free scholarship students from the poor. This study aims to dig deeper into the key to the successful implementation of social enterprises at SMP Juara Bandung, the obstacles faced, the challenges after implementation, and the steps to duplicate the success of the implementation. This research is a descriptive type using a case study approach, so that a lot of information and data are obtained to answer the research objectives above. The results of the study stated that the implementation of social enterprises at SMP Juara Bandung was successful and could be duplicated in similar schools that would carry out the transformation to maintain sustainable education in their schools.
