The design of the Controller Area Network (CAN bus) did not account for security issues and, consequently, attacks often use external mobile communication interfaces to conduct eavesdropping, replay, spoofing, and denial-of-service attacks on a CAN bus, posing a risk to driving safety. Numerous studies have proposed CAN bus safety improvement techniques that emphasize modifying the original CAN bus method of transmitting frames. These changes place additional computational burdens on electronic control units cause the CAN bus to lose the delay guarantee feature. Consequently, we proposed a method that solves these compatibility and security issues. Simple and efficient frame authentication algorithms were used to prevent spoofing and replay attacks. This method is compatible with both CAN bus and CAN-FD protocols and has a lower operand when compared with other methods.

In the cooperative vehicle infrastructure system (CVIS), due to the limitation of deployment conditions, some roadside units (RSUs) need to use renewable energy to supply power and transmit the fused sensor network’s data to the backbone network through the passing vehicles. Aiming at the problem of energy consumption and time delay guarantee of multiple self-powered RSUs in the CVIS, a distributed packet scheduling optimization strategy for energy-delay trade-off in self-powered RSUs is proposed. The strategy can minimize the system energy consumption by constraining the packet queue length of the self-powered RSUs. A dynamic optimization model of distributed packet adaptive scheduling for multiple self-powered RSUs is established based on the Lyapunov optimization theory. Based on the knapsack algorithm, the analytical algorithm of the optimization model is proposed. The simulation results show that the packet scheduling strategy can reduce the energy consumption and delay of the system by satisfying the upper limit of the packet queue length.

How to improve delay-sensitive traffic throughput is an open issue in vehicular communication networks, where a great number of vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle to vehicle (V2V) links coexist. To address this issue, this paper proposes to employ a hybrid deep transfer learning scheme to allocate radio resources. Specifically, the traffic throughput maximization problem is first formulated by considering interchannel interference and statistical delay guarantee. The effective capacity theory is then applied to develop a power allocation scheme on each channel reused by a V2I and a V2V link. Thereafter, a deep transfer learning scheme is proposed to obtain the optimal channel assignment for each V2I and V2V link. Simulation results validate that the proposed scheme provides a close performance guarantee compared to a globally optimal scheme. Besides, the proposed scheme can guarantee lower delay violation probability than the schemes aiming to maximize the channel capacity.
