Abstract Only within the last couple of years, complete isothermal sections for the Al-Ti-Zr system have been determined. Up to then there had been several investigations, but these were limited to the Ti-Zr and Ti-Al sides and the Ti- and Al corners of the system. Also recently the system has been evaluated by thermodynamic ab initio calculations and CALPHAD-type (CALculation of PHAse Diagrams) modelling. As Al-Ti-Zr alloys are of interest for a variety of applications and as the last assessment has been performed more than 15 years ago, this new critical evaluation of the existing literature about phase equilibria in the Al-Ti-Zr system has been performed.

The paper is devoted to the \bar{K}NNNK‾NNN system, consisting of an antikaon and three nucleons. Four-body Faddeev-type AGS equations are being solved in order to find possible quasi-bound state in the system.

The purpose of this article is to calculate the generalized nonlocal conductivity tensor of a spherical particle made of isotropic and linear materials. The generalized conductivity tensor is a crucial element in the formulation of the mean-field theories of the electromagnetic response of random particulate systems. This is equivalent to what is called the T-Matrix in multiple scattering theories. Here, a new method is proposed for finding explicit expressions for this tensor directly from its definition including the magnetic response of the spheres. Its relation with the S-Matrix in the theory of single scattering is stated as a generalization. Several approximations and limit cases of possible interest in specific systems are analyzed and the results of some calculations are presented as a numerical example.

The design of durable structure components requires durability analysis in CAE systems and cloud computations use is favorable for batch processing of multiple same-type calculation routines. To develop CAE durability modules analytical approach to different batch processing systems efficiency estimation is necessary. Such modules are intended for durability analysis of pre-hydrogenated and statically loaded structure components with initial defects. Durability estimate is defined as crack growth time elapsed from initial defect state to structure component fracture. Crack kinetics model had been used to simulate a fracture process, required for safe operation of a structure; crack length curves had been obtained and analyzed. The results were verified with the published experimental data on the subject at hand. The authors’ efficiency criterion was applied for performance analysis of the developed cloud application to find a subset of one modelling parameter in which the application is efficient being constrained in number of computational resources available and in the desirable level of performance.

This paper is to present a rule-based cutting tool selecting expert system which has knowledge modules and rule bases. Besides, according to different process targets, the selection progress will apply corresponding constraints and rule modules. The logic of tool selection follows a decision-making procedure as an experienced engineers. The strategy of system is to guide the user through several standard steps: information input; feature recognition; selection of machining method; selection of tool material and type; calculation of process parameter and solving cutting problem. This system also has a modularized structure which allows adding new functions and new modules to expand knowledge base and data base. Modules involves in this system are composed of the user interface, knowledge acquisition facility, explanation facility, the knowledge base module, the inference engine and the database module.
