The aim of the work is to develop a technology for the restoration of damaged sections of sewer collectors using clinker bricks. A significant part of such collectors in the Ukraine has completely exhausted their depreciation resource. For their construction, concrete and reinforced concrete were used, which are subject to destruction as a result of the influence of many factors and, above all, microbiological corrosion. Therefore, the selection of the optimal repair technology using corrosion-resistant clinker brick is relevant. The paper considers the problems of repair and reconstruction of worn-out collectors. Technical and technological solutions of an open method for their recovery using pneumatic formwork and corrosionresistant clinker brick are presented. The design of the collector lining structure has been carried out using the finite element method. To justify the feasibility of using the proposed technology, two options for restoring a worn-out collector have been considered: the “pipe-in-pipe” method and method developed by the authors using clinker bricks. The second option in terms of the cost of materials is almost four times more economical and more expedient than the first one (where polymer materials are used). The advantage of restoring circular sewer collectors by means of laying clinker bricks lies in the durability and resistance of this material (taking into account the anticorrosive composition of concrete) to the aggressive effects of the sewer environment. It should be noted that the application of the developed restoration technology is the most appropriate in conditions of sparse building or outside the city due to the significant volume of earthworks.

The use of mining and metallurgical waste for the production of building supplies reduces the burden on the environment and serves the sustainable development of the region’s industry at the same time. Russia has substantiated the possibility of producing ceramic construction materials of compression molding from a unique mixture of substances based on waste slag of copper–nickel productions, tailings of enrichment of apatite–nepheline ores, and ferruginous quartzites of enterprises of the Murmansk region. The effect of forming pressure (20, 50, and 100 MPa) on the properties of ceramic materials was studied. It is shown that an increase in molding pressure leads to an increase in the physical and mechanical properties of ceramic materials and to a decrease in fire shrinkage and water absorption. The use of a forming pressure of 100 MPa and a firing temperature of 1050 °C makes it possible to obtain a wall clinker brick; at a firing temperature of 1100 °C and a forming pressure of 20–100 MPa, a road clinker brick can be produced. Ceramic samples with frost resistance of more than 200 cycles were received.

The paper presents the results of the research for the reasons of the formation of a brownish bloom on a light clinker brick during its operation. In the work course, the clinker bricks, their mineralogical composition, the nature of the secondary brick coloring and the base materials were tested during bricklaying. It was established that 2 factors caused incrustation. Firstly, the site on which the clinker brick was laid was characterized by a level of alkali soil water close to the surface, and the surface evaporation prevailed over the soil absorption in the warm period of the year. That is all soil water-dissolved salts migrated to the surface of the brick along well-permeable sand joints between the bricks. Secondly, ferrous minerals, including hematite, which was subjected to hydration with the formation of iron hydroxides, and also reacted with sulphates of groundwater with the formation of iron sulphates, were found in the foundation under the brick. This confirms the higher sulfur content in incrustation areas and the presence of a film similar to crystalline hydrates. The analysis of the research allowed us to develop the recommendations for the performance of paving various types of sites with clinker bricks, to develop measures to eliminate an existing bloom, and also to defend the “honor and dignity” of light bricks.

Abstract In this paper a case of three-layer wall and fitting windows is described. The walls outside layer are made of clinker brick. The public basis is a situation, which occurred in an office building. In this building was a water stain on the windows inside the upstairs part the building, during the rain. In project of the building there were no details of performing three-layer wall and fitting of windows. In Poland one did not described in detail the realization for windows installation in three-layer wall.
