In this paper, synthesized organic compound of the family of ketene dithioacetal was studied as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in 1.0 M hydrochloric acid by gravimetric measurement. The aim of this work is to study the effect of inhibitor concentration and the temperature on the resistance, corrosion and to compare the experimental results with mathematical models. The structural properties were performed using scanning electron microscopy technique. It has been found that the inhibition efficiency, increases with increasing inhibitor concentration. The adsorption of studied compounds on mild steel surface follows Langmuir’s isotherm. Obtained data were analyzed by suggesting two mathematical models based on linear and quadratic regression, taking into account the influence of concentration and temperature on the inhibition efficiency. Obtained experimental data were in good agreement with those predicated by the quadratic model

An efficient method for the synthesis of highly substituted bicyclic pyridone derivatives containing dithiocarbamate group is reported via a one-pot three-component reaction of 2-(alkylthio) thioazlactones, diamines and nitro ketene dithioacetal in EtOH under catalyst-free conditions. The reaction proceeds via a domino amidation/intramolecular 1,4-addition-type Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction to afford the corresponding fused bicyclic pyridones with high yields and diastereselectively. The desired products are fully characterized by FT-IR, 1H and 13CNMR, CHN and single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses.

First examples with the unknown tricyclic 4,8b-dihydro-3aH-indeno[1,2-d][1,3]dithiole ring system have been prepared. Also, imidazoles linked in ring position 5 to a ketene dithioacetal and 1,3-dithiane derivatives with an exocyclic cyano- and imidazole-substituted C–C double bond are completely new. All these compounds are either conformationally locked, C-linked or six-ring analogues of the antifungal agent luliconazole. Synthesis and fungicidal activity of these sterol biosynthesis inhibitors are reported.
