The monthly and annual rainfall data for 35 meteorological sub-divisions for the 87-year period (1901-1987) have been used to study the trends and periodicities of monsoon and annual rainfall series. A number of distribution-free statistical tests have been applied to the rainfall series for testing non-randomness. Comparison of the decadewise means with the mean of the whole period showed that, for the country as a whole, the annual rainfall indicated four different climatic periods -two periods of above normal rainfall from 1960-1965 and from 1975 onwards and two periods of below normal rainfall from 1901-1915 and 1965-1975 whereas the monsoon rainfall showed two different climatic periods-a period of below normal rainfall from 1901-1920 and a period of above normal rainfall from 1920 onwards. The series were also subjected to low-passfilters which showed the presence of significant long term trend for a few sub-divisions. The power spectrum analysis for the annual and monthly rainfall series for a large number of sub-divisions showed significant periodicities of 2. 1-3.6 years, which correspond to the frequency range of the QBO. In addition, periodicities of 5.1 to 10.0 years and 19.3 years or more were also significant for a number of sub-divisions.

Kadidia is one of the area with geothermal potential in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to estimate the depth of reservoir and identify subsurface geological structures using gravity data and power spectrum analysis. It uses secondary data from the field survey results of the geophysical team from the Mineral and Geothermal Resource Center Agency. Furthermore, the data were processed to obtain a complete Bouguer anomaly, reduction in a flat field, regional and residual anomalies. The results of residual anomalies showed high and low values in the range of (5-13) mGal corresponding to volcanic rocks and in the range of -10 to -4 mGal spread evenly in the study area respectively. The analysis of derivative showed the presence of intrusive rocks which are thought to be granite, and the power spectrum showed that the heat source rocks from the geothermal system were inferred as granite at a depth of more than (3.68-6.00) km. In addition, the reservoir rocks were interpreted as low-density sandstones at a depth of (0.80-1.37) km, and a caprock in the form of sandstones with medium density at a depth of (0.20-0.80) km, and from the surface to 0.20 km is soil. The interpretation of three-dimensional modeling showed that the faults control geothermal manifestations, i.e. the Koalarawa and Towingkoloe faults, which extends from northwest-southeast.

Non periodic motion has been investigated using power spectrum analysis of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Lyapunov exponent parameter using Wolf algorithm, and Phase-plane mapping. A multi degrees of freedom (spring-damper system) are added at the end of the follower stem to reduce the nonlinear dynamic behavior of the follower. In the experiment setup, data acquisition technique with signal processing approach is used through an infrared camera device to capture the nonlinear dynamic movement of the follower. A numerical simulation is done using SolidWorks software. An OPTOTRAK/3020 with an infrared camera device is used to track the follower position experimentally. The peak of nonlinear response of the roller follower is reduced by (20.89%, 47.76%, 58.2%, and 67.16%) after using multi degrees of freedom systems.
